About this listen

Truth can be stranger than fiction. Segments of this fictional tale were inspired by actual events in the news. Manipulation, persuasion, brainwashing, all the religions do it in one form or another. If it's one of the other faiths, you can see it. When it's your own, not so much. In fact, odds are you will emphatically deny it and become offended. Indoctrination from an early age, our way is the only way, door-to-door campaigns, isolation in a separate state or remote country, difficult to leave, control, tithing, penalties from shunning to getting your head cut off, these are all are cults. A cult masquerades as a church. The allure of self-improvement, followed by a sense of belonging and security being with others who think like you do, like the moth drawn to the flame, you will be drawn to the inner circle. An eccentric billionaire rules a sex cult. Domination and submission are the themes of the group. Obedience, enthusiasm and gratitude are the rules. Inside the body of a demure-looking, blonde, green-eyed female millennial subordinate lurks a budding, manipulative psychopath. Our strongest chains are forged in our mind. Brainwashing and manipulation solidify those bindings. Excerpts: Domination and submission, doms and subs, that's what it's all about. Every relationship has its dominant, although sometimes it is very subtle. - - - “I can't speak for Joanie, but I could try harder.” “Try harder for what?” Angel asked, probing. “To please you.” “You should go. If you stay, we might hurt you,” said Brad, leading her toward the door. “You wouldn't want that would you?” Reluctant to leave, she said “I don't know.” He paused and both looked at her a bit bewildered. “Don't know what?” “It depends on how bad you hurt me, I suppose.” - - - Subs will be on-call to their doms 24/7. Text messages must be responded to within sixty seconds. You may tell your sub how to dress, when to go to bed, what to eat, and where there is a marriage, when to have sex with their spouse. Humiliate and embarrass your sub as desired, ditto for having sex with them. Appearance is very important in a group like this. The dom is responsible for their sub. An overweight sub means a punished dom. - - - “Opting for a brand instead of a tattoo is freedom of expression. I think a brand would suit you. In fact, I think I'd like you better with an HH brand.” “You would?” “A brand is more intimate. I used a cauterizing iron on Joanie. If you're serious about this, Joanie and I can cauterize you tonight. It takes about thirty minutes and, like you said, it's painful. What do you think?” “If it's you doing it to me as an act of intimacy, then yes, Miss Hecht, I'm all for it!” - - - “Place the bowl on the floor at your spot by the dinner table. You will be eating from it tonight. If you feel the need to speak, bark. Understand?” “Arf.” - - - They were birds of a feather, both taking compromising photos with hidden cameras, both from families with a history of psychotic behavior, and each with psychopathic traits of her own. One was a blonde, the other a brunette, each with a deceptively charming personality when it served her purpose. - - - I told everyone that if anything happens to me, it was you, Heather. They'll know you were behind it.” “Good, good. They will fear and respect me all the more, Di.” “You'd be stupid to kill a cop.” “I'd be stupid not to.” - - - There is an unrelated bonus story at the conclusion. It's too short to publish on its own, so I've added it as an encore. Crime Fiction Dystopian Cult
