“Frígido” es una palabra maravillosa que significa que hace mucho frío.
Lucas looks miserable and anxious.
‘Miserable’ means unhappy. ‘Anxious’ means super-scared.
Lucas se ve miserable y ansioso.
“Miserable” significa infeliz.
“Ansioso” significa muy asustado.
For all those asking "Are there any other 'Fancy Nancy' type books to teach new words and facts?"
The resounding answer is "YES!" Marvelous Maxx has stepped up to entertain and educate both boys and girls.
Our experts chose the perfect words so that your child will be a better reader at any age. Within each new adventure, children will learn epic words like “delectable, intriguing, rumble, distressed, anxious, swift” that will ignite their imagination. In addition, we include at least one common idiom in each book such as “The world is your oyster” which means you can do anything or go anywhere. We have used progressive, practical, current, culturally diverse, and advanced words that will make your children smarter and more confident.

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

SUPERB SPANISH-ENGLISH AUDIBLE PICTURE BOOK! WOWED
I got this audiobook for my 8-year-old son. He’s bilingual in Spanish - learns at school - and he reads well so I thought I should get something a bit more challenging to stretch his mind and decided to search for some beginner bilingual picture books.
The nice thing was this audiobook comes with a free pdf of the book. So, I had my son read it. After he started, he asked to read the whole book.
He did it first in English, then in Chinese, which I helped him with as there were a lot of new words. I am busy so having the audible recording was perfect. OMG - the narrator has a such perfect and beautiful command of Chinese -
and there is a second narrator who does perfect English - so my son could practice along with the narrator and improve his Mandarin & English while I was busy. Simply AWESOME! Also, it's teaching my son some special skills that literally might help him save a life one day–e.g. what foods contain peanuts and how to treat a peanut allergic reaction – totally WOWED!!!
With all the picture books out there these days - including the bilinguals - its so refreshing to listen to a fun children's book yet at the same time learn bucketloads of helpful information - new vocabulary and first aid! 2 thumbs way up . . .
