About this listen
Marianne Faithfull is one of the most iconic and enduring figures in popular music. From her early days as a teenage pop star in the 1960s to her comeback as a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter in the 1970s, Faithfull has always been a force to be reckoned with.
This book tells the story of Faithfull's life and career, from her humble beginnings in London to her meteoric rise to fame. It explores her relationships with the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger, and other major figures of the 1960s counterculture, as well as her struggles with addiction and mental health.
But this is more than just a biography. It is also a celebration of Faithfull's music, which has been praised by critics and fans alike for its honesty, vulnerability, and raw emotion. Faithfull's voice is one of a kind, and her songs have touched the lives of millions of people around the world.
This book is a must-read for anyone who loves music, history, or simply a good story. It is a testament to the power of music to overcome adversity and to inspire us all.
The AI voice was ok. a few mispronunciations. He botched Jim Morrison’s name lol. Otherwise it was OK to listen to you. I think they used AI to make this book. It was very general.
Not a biography of Marianne

The press eventually turned against Faithful after a series of arrests. Of course, the men she was with got a free pass and an upgrade to their bad boy images. As usual, the woman took the blame. Marianne was portrayed as a loose woman and druggie. There is a lot of time spent on her relationships, especially with Mick Jagger. A big chunk of this 55-page book is spent on Jagger and his background.
I listened to the audiobook which was read by Virtual Voice. The narration wasn't bad at all. I chose this book because I needed an autobiography or a memoir for a reading challenge. After searching audiobooks for autobiographies, I found this one. I chose it for the short length which was good since it reads like a sixth-grade book report. I wouldn't consider this an actual autobiography. I'm assuming Ms. Faithful had nothing to do with the publication of this story. My rating: 1 Star.
