Aye

My husband grew up reading Ralph Moody books. I had never heard of him. I enjoyed the story so much. However, the reading is somewhat stilted at times, perhaps meant to sound like a child narrating. I could do without the accents applied to the characters, and I’d love a softer “a” and “the” too.

Pulls at heart strings

This series is an endearing story of sacrifice and familial commitment. It's refreshing in a world of egotism and entitlement. I'm inspired to more patience and support of loved ones and to be a person of integrity, gratitude and respect.

Read on!

As this series continues Ralph’s characters grow and we grow with them in a time that was both harder and simpler. Reward yourself by reading this one in sequence.

Mary Emma

I enjoyed the entire book. The narrator also is superb. He voice is so homey and soothing. Both he and the writing are outstanding. Ralph Moody was years away from his stories when he wrote, but he captures the voices of young children and teens perfectly. Infeel as though I am right there watching their adventures as they live them. I will probably go back and listen to the entire series again when I finish. I love it!

My teen is required to read the first book in the series for school. I read it and fell in love with the story. I will buy all everything he writes!
