Publisher's summary

She’s an artist, at the resort to paint the beauty of the Ozark mountains… and to try to forgive her ex.
He’s here because his boss commanded him to take a break, or else. The mistake he made at work was too big to ignore.
Neither expects to see the other, but when they do, the old wounds, sorrow, and resentment will not be kept tamped down…

Six years ago, Megan Tyler divorced her husband, Brian. They’d gone their separate ways, and she’d hoped never to see them again after the way he broke her heart. She certainly never expected that she would one day encounter him many miles away from her Missouri home, at a cabin resort in northwest Arkansas. But almost at the same time she drives into the parking lot to check in to her rental, so does he. The only reason she doesn’t leave is that Phyl, the resort’s owner, promises to give her a cabin as far away from her ex as possible. Megan takes it, assuring herself that she’ll be too busy, and away from the resort too much, to have to worry about seeing Brian.

All of that changes when her cabin, the only one left that is some distance away from Brian, is vandalized. To add insult to injury, while sitting in the woods to sketch out a nature scene, she loses another sketch, one more precious to her than any she’d ever created.

Feeling vulnerable, she can’t say no when Brian approaches her and hesitantly invites her to go shopping with her to purchase Christmas gifts for a local charity, a tradition they’d established early on as a married couple. They are making tentative steps toward reacquaintance, when they stop at a café for lunch and Megan is reminded of all the reasons she couldn’t remain Brian’s wife.

Her further attempts to distance herself from him are foiled, however, first when she gets lost in the mountain during a hail storm, then when her second cabin is vandalized, and she has no other place to stay than Brian’s cabin. It’s the last place she wants to be… except that right now, he’s the only person in the world who feels safe.

She knows she needs to forgive, but her dismay at his non-reaction to their mutual tragedy won’t get out of her mind. He wants to reconcile, but isn’t sure his undying love for her can ever be enough for the sin he can’t figure out he committed.
While they struggle to set the past to rights, Phyl’s sister, Barb, struggles with envy and anger over an issue that has smacked her upside the head and tested her faith as it hasn’t been tested in a long time.

For Christmas to be full of the joy and peace it’s supposed to have, God will have to move more than one mountain…

This Christian Christmas romance novel will have you reaching for tissues even as you cheer both Megan and Brian on. It’s a second chance romance that encourages letting go and learning to trust again.
