About this listen

Zahos Hadjifotiou is a Greek best-selling author who met success from his first book. He has written dozens of books, and many of them have been translated into foreign languages. All his books are best-sellers.

Middle East Affairs recounts Zahos' adventures in legendary events of WW2 (siege of Tobruk, battles of El Alamein and Rimini), with all its tragedy and specific details, exactly as they were experienced by the writer. All stories are true and based on the author's experiences, not on descriptions as used by many war historian authors. At the same time, it is a vivid depiction of the cosmopolitan and aristocratic urban environments of Alexandria, Cairo, and Beirut, during those turbulent years where death was highly probable and people tried to enjoy life to the fullest.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

This audiobook version - no. Maybe the kindle format.

How could the performance have been better?

This was one of the most boring narration I've heard in recent months. The narrator didn't seem interested in telling / performing the story at all and kept going on in a monotonous voice. It literally put me to sleep. The subject matter of this book is so interesting and a good narration could've made it great. Instead, we got this. :(

I think I will like to read the book in Kindle format instead.

Any additional comments?

I received this audiobook for free from the author / narrator / publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.
