About this listen

This book is all about emotions and experience. It is a trip inside ourselves to discover our deepest sides, the hidden ones, the diversity of our feelings and the reality of human nature. Think of how many times a day we are in open conflict with our own selves, debating internally, and deep inside our minds, on various issues, from the most trivial ones to the most serious, such as what suit or dress to wear; if we should attend a social event instead of relaxing comfortably at home; whether to buy a new car or a nice necklace; date that person that we find attractive; maybe change job, or perhaps split from our partner in life. We are permanent hostages to our conflicting feelings and sentiments; those debates are a continuous dialogue between our heart, our impulses and our reason; as a matter of fact, we all have many hidden sides that tear us apart whenever we have to make up our minds. Those are the romantic side, the rational side, the wise side and so many other various sides of our personalities; we often end up being inspired by the side that fits our mood the most at a particular moment. The three characters of this book are Henri, a young man in his mid-thirties, successful, logical, down-to- earth, focused, but at the same time devoid of emotion, ruthless, superficial, vain, and maybe even a little narcissistic sometimes. The second character is Sophie, a young woman in her late twenties. She is romantic, sentimental, bohemian, an artist on her cloud, always in love, and totally disconnected from reality. And finally, the third character is an old man, an experienced one, a philosopher who has been battered by life. We don’t know his name, but the two others call him “Old man”. He has seen it all and has come to be at peace with himself, he is the wise man of our story. The three heroes of the book are engaged in an internal exchange, sometimes heated, other times contemplative or philosophical, about various issues in life.
This book is all about emotions and experience. It is a trip inside ourselves to discover our deepest sides, the hidden ones, our diverse feelings and the reality of human nature. This book is a contemplation of life, of our inner self, and a celebration of love, dreams and happiness. Ethics & Morality Philosophy Poetry
