About this listen
Penny's gotten herself into another one of her crazy messes. She's broke and about to be evicted. When her online boyfriend suggests they elope, she agrees. Why not? She loves him, even though she hasn't met him, so she blows the last of her cash on a fun Las Vegas wedding. Except, William stands her up and the limo driver picks up the wrong guy. A smokin' hot wrong guy. Too bad she doesn't find out who he really is until after the wedding.
Harrison Williams needs a wife to gain access to his trust fund account. He goes to Las Vegas to meet someone, but there's a mix up and he ends up at the Chapel-O-Love exchanging vows with Penny, a spirited girl in a cheap veil. When they realize the mistake, he convinces her to go back to Bel Air with him to prove that he's married, and he agrees to pretend to be William so her family doesn't have to know about her big mistake. Sounds like a good plan. What could go wrong?
Mistakenly Married is a sweet, clean romantic comedy.

Story
It was a simple marriage of convenience. Just two years. What could possibly go wrong? All Nara wanted was to become a fashion designer. That, and an IV full of Diet Coke to feed her favorite addiction. She never thought her father would force her into a marriage of convenience. And who did he choose for her wedded bliss? None other than Derek Marshall, Mr. Stuffy himself. Derek’s been in love with Nara since they were kids, but he’s always become so tongue-tied around her. He wasn’t like the guys she dated, smooth and confident. No, he was too awkward and nervous.

If I were ever to write a memoir, it would be titled, Jenna Peterson’s Guide to Dating Emotionally Unavailable Men. I’m like a professional at it. I’m so good, I can take any dysfunctional man and turn him into Prince Charming, just in time for him to dump me and then go on to marry the next woman he dates. I’m about ready to give up on loving real men and focus on lusting over fictional men in the Turkish dramas I can’t stop devouring.

He’s given me more last-minute and weekend requests than anyone else, ruining any plans I make. I should quit. And I will. Just as soon as I hit my two-year anniversary and earn out my signing bonus. But after a particularly awful day at work, a breakup (via text!), and my computer crashing, I’ve had enough! After graduation, I thought I’d be off to grad school, doing research on my favorite poet. Instead, I’m renovating my late grandmother’s home and posting about the process on Instagram. Talk about a detour… But here I am. Turning Gran’s beach house into a bed and breakfast; a process that would be a lot easier if I didn’t have to deal with the grumpy lawyer living next door. It doesn’t help that the night Jake and I met, I got a little tipsy, and he had to carry me back to my hotel.

Narrator was great!
I loved the narrator. She did a great job on the various voices and pacing of the book.
As for the book itself, the storyline was okay. The plot was good. As always, this couple could have used some great advice before they reached adulthood. Main great advice: Communicate, communicate, communicate. Talk to each other.
My main issue with the book (besides the communicate one) is that there were a lot of slang words. No, none of them were "bad," but you knew exactly what she meant when she said them. Or what she would have said if the book hadn't been written by a clean author.
I liked the ending, but can't tell you exactly why due to spoilers.

I've found a new author!
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Penny’s gotten herself into another one of her crazy messes. She’s broke and about to be evicted. When her online boyfriend suggests they elope, she agrees. Why not? She loves him, even though she hasn’t met him, so she blows the last of her cash on a fun Las Vegas wedding. Except, William stands her up and the limo driver picks up the wrong guy. A smokin’ hot wrong guy. Too bad she doesn’t find out who he really is until after the wedding.
Harrison Williams needs a wife to gain access to his trust fund account. He goes to Las Vegas to meet someone, but there’s a mix up and he ends up at the Chapel-O-Love exchanging vows with Penny, a spirited girl in a cheap veil. When they realize the mistake, he convinces her to go back to Bel Air with him to prove that he’s married, and he agrees to pretend to be William so her family doesn’t have to know about her big mistake. Sounds like a good plan. What could go wrong?
MY TAKE
This is a fun story, and I found the main characters very engaging. The differences in their lifestyles and expectations couldn't be much different. Penny's such a sincere and kindhearted girl. She's so different from anyone Harrison's ever known before.
Even though they don't spend a lot of time together in the story, it feels like a longer time because they are in each other's company so much. They each find things to like and admire in the other, and they each become a champion to the other.
While there's a "Sabrina" feel to some elements of the story, it was unique enough in its presentation that it didn't detract from my enjoyment.
The narrator did a decent job with the story. My only complaint would be that the sound was a bit tinny.

Yahoo, very good
This book was great. I thought Penny and he mistakes were funny. They way she meets Harrison is great. I liked the way Penny and Harrison worked their marriage out. The step Mom sure was mean and hard on them. But the families learned to deal with each other.
This is a clean and very appropriate for everyone. I have enjoyed this writers books and hope you will read more of her work.

Not what it seems...
It was really great. The only thing that could've made it better was more text conversations with William to get a sense of why we should like the guy. Other than that, great characters, lots of fun, good, funny, and clean. Also nerdy too...

Adorable Story
Where does Mistakenly Married rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
At first, I wasn't sure I liked the narrator. But, it didn't take me long to figure out I loved her. A good narrator acts out some of the story and this gal nailed it in the way you're sucked into the story and you forget someone is reading it to you.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Penny is totally lovable and the semi evil stepmother appropriately unlikable. Def a recommended listen.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
The story itself is delightful. The author took an odd scenario and made it believable and fun.

Cute
This is a quick read for sure. Not a terrible story line, but the indecisiveness of the two main characters gets annoying pretty quick. Wish they would have focused a little less on that, and more on their relationship. Could have been much better. But it was entertaining to say the least and enjoyable to listen to while at work.
