Publisher's summary

Book One: Mail Order Bride Margaret

Declan O'Bryan left Ireland to seek his fortune in the New World, but the journey was long for a man without a penny to his name. It took years of back-breaking work as a sailor and a journeyman for him to finally reach Montana, and to have enough money to his name to earn the title of proud homesteader. There's only one thing missing from his life now, and, unlike the boys in town, he's not convinced a man should find a wife in a catalog, the same way he buys a plow.

But for Margaret McGreggor, answering an advertisement for a wife is the only way she can get out of her sister's cramped apartment and start a new life for herself. She came to America for adventure and opportunity, and marrying a stranger just might her with both.

Book Two: Mail Order Bride Kathleen

Kathleen Grady has faced hardship - and overcome it - at nearly every turn. Whether it's the death of her betrothed at sea or the fight with her tyrannical brother for what's rightfully hers, she has struggled for so long that can't remember what peace in her soul even feels like.

But when the chance to become the wife of a stranger, a homesteader in a new world called Montana, presents itself, Kathleen must decide if leaving Ireland for America will give her the escape she desperately needs, or will only throw her into even more danger?

Book Three: Mail Order Bride Brianna

When Brianna Darcy left Ireland to marry a stranger, she expected her life to change for the better. But one surprise after another has left her questioning everything she thought she knew.

For Cassidy Campbell, finding a sweet wife to settle down with is the only thing missing from his life. He owns his claim, he's raised his livestock, and he's made a name for himself in Montana. All he needs now is Brianna.

But she brings a secret with her that can threaten their happiness, and their freedom. Can Cassidy overlook what he believes to accept what's right in front of him?

I can't wait for more books in this series..

Any additional comments?

- Book 1: Mail Order Bride Margaret

This is a quick clean read that takes place when there is a shortage of women, so, the men in the small Montana town, who desired a wife and family resorted to Mail Order Brides.

The main characters, Declan O'Bryan and Margaret McGreggor, start writing each other and soon Margaret agrees to marry him.

They have a couple of things in common including both being from Ireland and both being stubborn.

Declan under-reacts to things while Margaret over-reacts which leads to an interesting couple.

Overall this was an interesting read but there were times when Declan took the advice of his friend, Ned,
and it resulted in a couple of misunderstandings between him and Margaret.

Declan relied too much on his friend's thoughts / opinions but it was good that he was able to admit to his faults.

I also felt that, the story could have been a little longer.

- Book 2: Mail Order Bride Kathleen

Kathleen, the female lead, has a difficult decision to make, should she stay in Ireland and fight with her brother or should she venture to America and become a Mail Order Bride to Joss, the male lead in the story.

I liked Kathleen and Joss both.

The story has a bit of adventure, danger, and romance, with a plot that's short, sweet and to the point which is an overall well written book.

- Book 3: Mail Order Bride Brianna

Brianna, the female lead, is starting to wonder about her idea to move to America for a new life because her secrets threaten her happiness and overall well being..

Cassidy the male lead, has everything that he needs except a wife.

There are a few "issues" and misunderstandings for the couple to work out.

Overall, this was a very Interesting read until the very end of the book.

I can't wait for more books in this series to be released.

Charles D. Baker's narration did well with the narration.

Irish Lass

Amelia Rose has a special way of making the adventures of each mail order brides travel interesting. Setteling the Montana territory comes to life by James D Baker. I specifically enjoy his voice and expressions.
I recommend this series and the trials of each Irish Lass.

Good clean romance!

It was a delightful box set. Clean romance and interesting characters. I enjoyed the time period and Montana area for new settlers that brought mail order brides out to start a family.

Not As Good As The Others

This book was given in exchange for an unbias review via audiobook boom. This 3 part story was really strange. Each one of the brides came with excessive baggage and neither seemed to have the good sense they should have. Book 1 is Declan and Margaret's story. He is the one who allows his friend to put strange notions in his head and almost loses his chance at happiness. Book 2 is Josh and Kathleen's story and it is really crazy. She takes out running because he gets tongue tied and almost dies after tumbling down a hill. Book 3 is the tale of Cassidy and Brianna who is a horse whisperer and move over a princess. Each of these were just a little unbelievable for me. All of the other mail-order bride books have been at least believable.

Great Trilogy Features Mail Order Bride

This great trilogy features Mail Order Bride Montana Destiny Brides

1) Margaret McGregor has fled Ireland and looking for adventure. However, her life consists of being stuck in her sister's tiny apartment.

Declan O'Brien also left Ireland and made his way to Montana. He is successful in every aspect of life but now he wants a wife.

Unfortunately there are slim pickings in the wild West of Montana. However all the men he knows are insisting he pick out a wife from the mail-order bride papers. It feels really strange to him but he answers an ad from Margaret.

Before long she arrives and their marriage is official. Will they figure out how to make this situation one of love, family devotions?

2) Kathleen makes the tumultuous journey from Ireland, fleeing her greedy and violent brother. After a harrowing trip across country to Joss, her betrothed. She will not marry Joss for a strange & silly reason...

Sweet, suspenseful mystery/romance.

3) Brianna, this book is a bit more of the same. Brianna flees Ireland before she can be married off for her estate. Finding Cassidy in Montana, she insists on being married barely off the train leaving many to believe she is already pregnant.

I found this the sweetest of all of the stories with the innocence, humor and discovery.

This is a wonderful series and I have another four books (separate series by the same author and narrator) to listen too, but I think I'll take a break before diving back in.

Amelia Rose has scores of these books - historical western romances; 2-4 hours long. This is a gold mine for those who want romance without the graphic descriptions, strong language and violence that make up most of what's out there.

I'm not sure Charles D Baker is the right fit for these books, in my opinion. His performance of the twenty-something males are very good but I cringe when he performs women and older men.

*I received this work in exchange for my review; good, bad or meh. I've written all 3 kinds.
