Lily Danziger wanted more than the shallow life she'd been living in so-called New England society. She wanted more security than money could buy. So she packed up her newborn daughter and headed for a new start - until a blizzard stopped them in their tracks and she had to ask a stranger for help, the rugged traveler their one chance for survival. He led them to a temporary refuge, but could he also hold the key to a future Lily has only dreamed of?

Lily has a newborn daughter Nikki and is moving on with her life and ends up in a blizzard. She gives a very reluctant ride to Quist. Quist has been driving for 30 PLUS hours with out sleep he is GRUMPY.... a bumpy road is the 'start' for this couple. They end up in a cabin where the heat between them builds as the snow continues to fall. When Nikki breaks her arm Quist becomes her" ladies maid" Quist soon has his sexy thoughts focus on Lily..... his "patient"...LOL but sees the beauty inside and out of this sweet woman and her tiny daughter. As an emotional bond takes places they soon give way to the passion. Quist decides he cannot give up this sexy woman. Quist has a very low opinion of females in general from his shiftless Mother......Lily and Nikki ends up at Quist's Montana Ranch......and begin a new life when a man from her past shows up with a PROPOSAL. ..... Quist has to learn that the bond with Lily helps him build trust. Quist decides Lily and Nikki are his....and is 'not' going to give them up. This is a very good early book by the wonderful Barbara Delinsky. I give it over all 4 stars. Lesa Lockford is one of the BETTER Mediascape readers.

Awesome book. Once again Barbara Delinsky delivers! What did you like best about this story?
I really like the uniqueness of this book (is that a word?). It has a different theme than those most often published these days.Loved it!

Any additional comments?
and so glad to see it as an audio-book! I bought the Harlequin paperback many years ago and the story stayed in my heart and mind. Well worth buying both versions.I'm glad the narrator was good. I've bought other favorite stories as audio-books, only to find the narrator's voice wasn't to my liking. I've found myself gritting my teeth through a book or two (if it's a series) and then giving up.
Thanks to Barbara and Lesa, I can re-read this one many times!
Loved this book when it first came out . . .
