About this listen

Elizabeth Montgomery wishes to honor her grandfather’s memory by moving back to her hometown of Quinton, Georgia, to take care of her grandmother and to remodel their family home. Unfortunately, rumors spread of mysterious happenings haunting the property, and the only contractor willing to take on the project is Jackson Dean, the long lost nephew of her grandmother’s chief enemy.

Jackson Dean moves to Georgia to reignite his family relations, but his work poses a threat to a peaceful transition. He accepts the job on Montgomery House to prove his skills as a contractor, but what he is not expecting are his feelings towards the granddaughter of Sissy Montgomery, and his personal quest to mend more than just the house. Elizabeth and Jackson must learn to work together on more than just construction, and their hearts must face more than just family prejudice. Can years of family rivalry truly be forgiven?

This is a Sweet Southern Romance with a side of mystery and a dash of Hatfield and Mccoy! It's a clean romance vividly written and beautifully narrated by Karen Commins. I voluntarily listened to an ARC copy by Sweet Sounds Audiobook Group. That being said I enjoyed it so much I purchased the Kindle book as well!

This was a great clean romance; very sweet without being corny like some can be. The story was entertaining and kept you wanting to continue the listen. The characters range from mischievous, crotchety to sweet and sexy and I loved them all. The narration was spot on and had a great southern lilt to it.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I found the book slow at times but we do get to know the characters better and the people around them.
Would recommend to those who love clean contemporary romance.

What I enjoyed:

• I enjoyed the century old feud between the Montgomery and Dean families.
• The remodeling of the Montgomery Mansion tugged on my sympathies and funny bone as the typical unexpected delays and troubles occurred.
• There were funny moments and witty banter throughout this book.
• Liz and Jackson were characters you wanted to know more about.
• Sissy, Anna, and Ginger were minor characters that added dimension to the plot.
• The descriptions of locations and emotions were well done, easy to visualize, and to feel. I felt a part of the scenes.
• The pacing of the story was neither too slow nor too fast.
• There was a smooth, coherent flow to this book.
• This was a clean read.
• The narrator did an excellent job in differentiating the various characters' voices. She had a pleasant voice to listen to and I will be looking forward to listening to more books narrated by Karen Commins.

I requested a free audiobook from the author. My review was voluntary and my opinions were my own. This was a new author to me and I enjoyed her story very much. I will be looking forward to reading/listening to more of her books.

Liz being raised by grandparents now wanting to Honor that by restoring their family home and taking care of her grandmother. A small town and rumors of it being haunted. Finding only Jackson’ would take the job, to prove himself and the work he does. Rumors again of family feuds, would that make love unattainable. Good old fashioned settings, and of rumors and families. Narration made this an excellent book to listen to. Given ARC audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

SOUTHERN CHARM

Katharine E Hamilton is a new author to me, and is very talented. I loved this story with all of it's southern charm and realistic characters. I know that some people can carry a grudge, but 50 years seemed extreme. The characters were endearing and unique. I loved how the narrator performed them with distinguishable voices and accents. Karen Commins has a great voice and is easy to listen to. The imagery in this book was really well done, especially with the "haunting". The story is a clean listen. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review.

Pretty good book- at first the narrator wasn’t my favorite, but she did a pretty good job at having different voices for all the characters. I did kinda get tired of hearing about the feud though.
