About this listen

When Yuan’s brother runs from their home in the fabled Bodyn Temple, Yuan is granted permission to bring Jamus back. He travels on foot across the dunes of the deep desert to the sparsely inhabited lands of The Tribes. Here he reluctantly takes on two travelling companions, a crippled Plainsman and Synce, a Sister of Lutan. Lutan is the Moon God of the desert people. Together they pass through the Peaks of Ishan to the fertile lands that lay beyond. Here water flows in streams and rivers and even falls from the sky. The land is green and full of fat sheep and contented cows. Even the sun is gentler here. It is also a land of bigotry as the Plainsmen consider themselves superior to the men of the desert and hold their Sun God, Soltan, to be the stronger of the two brothers. Out on the plains the desert men have been subjugated and turned into virtual salves, the men forced to work for little more than food to feed their families and their woman used as playthings. The drudgery and injustice they face daily feeds the old prophecy of the one who will come out of the desert to save them – the Moon Child. The closer Yuan comes to the capital the angrier he becomes. On his forearms are the tattoos that mark him as a Death Dancer and a Thought Wielder. As these are also the marks of the Moon Child, Yuan grudgingly accepts that he fits the prophecy. But so does his lost brother, Jamus. Adventure Science Fiction
