Publisher's summary

More Strange Scotland is a collection of anecdotes, facts, folklore, and legends about the strangeness of that little nation on the western fringe of Europe.

From fairies to witches and the frightening water horses, Scotland has a host of legends. Add haunted castles, strange pub names, and devilish people to the mix, sprinkle with Aberlour spirits and the mists of Skye and then start listening to the audiobook.

If ghostly bagpipers and unseen river monsters don’t scare you off, then you may revel in the stories from this most strange of all countries.

More Strange Scotland

I enjoyed this book. There are so many stories and histories of Scotland that are included. It is full of so many different things from fairies and witches to castles and ghosts and many things in between. There is just enough information on each subject to entertain the listener. Each new item grabs your attention, this is a nice light and engaging collection. Narrator George Ellington does a good job of keeping the narrative flowing and his accent gives these stories a bit of that something special while you listen.

Wonderful Collection of Scottish Lore & Folktales

I loved this strange little collection of stories and folk wisdom on the fae, the witches, the devil, the stones and a whole myriad of other uniquely Scottish bits and pieces and I loved George Ellington's Scottish lilt which was just enough to lend the tales a bit of local flavour without sliding over to a thick enough brogue to make him difficult for a non-Scot to understand.

Truly intriguing

I absolutely loved this. First off I am fascinated by the rich history and fantastic lore that makes up Scotland. Here is a collected a work of both fact as well as folklore. I found myself pausing frequently to take some notes and google some things to learn even more about certain things discussed in this book. I cannot recommend this enough for anyone who loves Scotland and want to Know more about her. Keep an ear out for the greatest conman in history! My favorite factual story therein. Fun, Pithy Tales Well Told

Fun, pithy tales told well. Leaves me wanting more, so I will be checking out the rest of the series, though this volume stands on its own.
Very talented voice artist.

Not My Cup of Tea

The titular pun aside, when I saw "strange" I guess I was expecting something else. This is a book about fairies, fables and legends not authentic Scottish history. If you like Scottish lore and tales this is the book for you. If you're looking for Scottish history of an unusual variety you're going to have to look somewhere else.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this review voluntarily.

Curious ghost stories from Scotland

*I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.*

A non-fiction about some interesting ghost or curious stories from Scotland.

I cannot judge characters or plot on this book, but I can say not all stories are told the same way, which makes this book dynamic. The ones that are set as dialogues are engaging and the narrator did a great job at making them interesting enough for the listener.
