About this listen

Windy Morning, that’s what my mama named me. Who knows what she was thinking. She somehow thought it was a good idea. She says it’s a cute name, but I’m pretty sure she’s the only one that would agree with her. She was just as “cute” with my siblings’ names. After me is my brother, Sunny Morning. Rainy Morning is our little sister, and the baby brother is Stormy Morning. We’re from Gusty Rock, a tiny town on the Oregon Coast. When I say we’re from Gusty Rock I mean it’s been home to every Morning since the beginning of time, or for as far back as anyone can remember, anyway.

My siblings and I are the proud owners of Morning Sweets, where all the tourists and locals go for all things sweet. My sister and I run the bakery side, while our brothers run the candy shop. Event cakes are my favorite, especially wedding cakes. People think I’m a romantic because I love making wedding cakes. But the truth is, I just love making big fancy cakes. Wedding cakes just happen to be the biggest, fanciest cakes I get the pleasure of making. Don’t tell Mom, she has high hopes.

But so far Mister Right just doesn’t exist. At least he doesn’t exist in Gusty Rock, and I’m not about to go out searching for him. If God has plans for me he’s just going to have to stick that man right here and point him in my direction. It’s the only way I’m ever going to meet him. In the meantime I have cakes and muffins to make. That keeps me plenty busy and I’m content with that. I have no ticking clocks turning me into a desperate dog in heat. I’m good, just ask anyone. Well anyone that’s not my mother. She’s got those high hopes after all…
