About this listen

Mountaineering in the Sierra Nevada is an engrossing blend of scientific exploration and personal adventure. Clarence King describes the ascent of Mounts Tyndall, Shasta, and Whitney with a scientific poet’s eye, and makes the grandeur of the cliffs, the peaks, the glaciers, and the meadows of Yosemite Valley come alive through his remarkable gifts of portrayal. King describes nature like a master painter while his portrait of the people of California 20 years after the Gold Rush finds engaging expression in a subtle shift of style.

the subject matter is really interesting to me, that is the only way I was able to choke this one down. The voice actor did not bother to check pronunciation and really sounded like a computer with a slight latin inflection. I was convinced more than once that it might be Alexa or Alejandro in this case, when mispronunciations of words like "canyon" (cannon) "Puget" (P-ugh-jit) and Melancholy (Mah-Lank-alley(my personal fave)) to name a few were repeatedly butchered. I get it not a popular title, any voice performer will do, But please check the algorithm, I mean the performance for correct pronunciation before release.

is it a real person reading or Alexa
