Publisher's summary

Will a case of mistaken identity give purposes to their lonely hearts?

Gracie Pickett followed her dreams of being a physician all the way to Rattlesnake Ridge. Learning the trade was the easy part, however. Convincing the small pioneer town that she’s up to the job is the tough part, especially when a rude, arrogant, oh-so-handsome widower and his three adorable boys seem to make it their mission to make her new life far more difficult than she ever anticipated.

Barrett Wright is busy managing his understaffed ranch while also hoping to find a wife to tend to his rambunctious sons. When the town council tasks him with finding a new doctor, he finds the perfect man for the job - until he learns the new doctor is a woman!

Barrett is determined to see Gracie replaced with someone more suitable, if only he can tear his eyes away from her long enough to get the job done. Gracie has no intention of giving up her new practice. When an accident puts her medical skills to the test, will she be able to prove to her biggest rival that she’s the right person for the job...and his heart?

loved it

I truly enjoyed and appreciated this book. I liked the struggle Barrett had to accept her not only has a doctor but as a match. Though I must admit I loved Gracie's interactions with the children almost more than those with Barrett!! haha. Great Book!

Wonderful read!

This was such a good, clean, sweet, and fun read. There were moments of sadness and laughter. Depicts the struggle for lady doctors back in the day. Not just a love story but a family love story.

Narrator did a good job.

Mistaken Identity

This is a cute story with a good narrator. Gracie has always wanted to become a doctor and now she has returned home to Maryland with her degree in hand. She has one problem, no one wants to hire a female doctor. It's okay if she was a nurse, but doctor no way. Times are changing, but not fast enough for Gracie. She decides to apply for a position, but this time only use her first initials. She is not lying, but wants the chance to get a job and prove she can do it. It works, she accepts an offer from Rattlesnake Ridge, clear across the country. Let me tell you, no one was happy, especially Barrett, whose job it was to find a new doctor. When she arrives,he wants to send her right back to Maryland. Barrett does not have time for a lying female. He is a widower with 2 small boys and owns a ranch. He wants her gone, but the town and his boys are falling in love with her, can he? An accident he has might change his mind and heart.

Great book

I listened to this one on audio.

I am from Maryland so I really wanted to read/listen to this one. This heroine is from Cristfield, not anywhere near where I grew up, but still.

I really liked this book. A woman doctor at this time was, most times, unheard of. Having the courage to go to medical school at that time and then move clear to Nevada is amazing. This author does a fantastic job of creating a character worthy of of the intelligence and determination needed. The story flowed well and kept my attention the entire time. A great book to listen to or read.

The narrator was good.

Moving From Maryland

Very good clean romance. She’s a doctor, he doesn’t want a woman doctor. Now his sister-in-law wants to marry him. What a disaster. I really enjoyed the narration, she does a great job. Highly recommend!

4 ⭐'s

I liked this sweet tale. It was entertaining and kept me listening. I think my hesitations for giving this a 5 star rating are fair. Firstly, the narrator didn't quite capture me when using her "male voice". I think I would've liked Barrett immensely more if the voice I heard was different. Secondly, Gracie seemed to go back and fourth with her understanding as to whether Barrett was actually engaged. Like in one scene she understood he was and then seemed surprised when she thought he was again. This left me feeling very confused. Thirdly, and this is a biggie for me, I so wanted to see the interaction between Gracie and Barrett once she came back to the ranch. We went through this journey with them, and didn't get to see such a crucial moment. That was hugly disappointing for me.

Amazing story

I throughly enjoyed listening to this book. Wish it was longer but I enjoyed listening. The narrator was wonderful and so was the story. A must listen to book.
