About this listen
Solving a murder wasn't on the wedding planner's checklist. With so many changes in her life, sleuthing is the last thing on the mind of Cold Creek College’s amateur sleuth, Sheridan Hendley. The morning run with Brett and his teen-aged daughter, Maddie, comes to a halt when the miniature Sheltie, Charlie, finds a dead body. Unfortunately, the victim was the manager of Hidden Oaks, a picturesque wedding venue and the precise location the teen wedding planner suggested for the upcoming nuptials. When Sheridan visits Hidden Oaks, she senses there is more underfoot than meets the eye.
While they explore alternative locations, Sheridan and Kim investigate the not-so-friendly new manager and the family that owns Hidden Oaks. Can Sheridan put the pieces together in time to have the wedding at the perfect site? Listen to find out who’s behind the murder and what the future holds for Sheridan and Brett. Murder and a Wedding is the fifth in the Cold Creek Series.

Perhaps this holiday will force our family to address our long-held grudges and leave with the promise of a happier future.

When I first moved from Manhattan to this small town six years ago, I worried about many things. I worried about finding a job. I worried that I’d be bored. I worried that my relationship with charming photographer Ryan Breslow was moving too fast. But I never worried about whether the ground beneath my feet would crumble—both literally and figuratively. My marriage didn’t go as I’d imagined. A year ago, Ryan met his untimely death in a car accident that’s still under investigation.

Kidnappers grabbed Jenna in broad daylight, right in front of her children and their horrified classmates. Her family was issued an insane ransom demand: $25 million in cash and jewels, payable by the end of the school day, otherwise they’ll never see her again. As Jenna’s mother scrambles to gather the money, detectives Mo Butler and George Ortega follow the trail of the kidnappers, which will lead them through a sordid landscape of jealous lovers, broken dreamers, and twisted schemers. But every second counts, and there’s one thing Jenna Wade doesn’t have: very much time.

Story
My fiancé brought me tea and scrambled eggs in bed that morning, and we snuggled together, talking about buying our rings, and about our perfect wedding next year. Then we headed into town. He held my hand and gazed at the ring I liked best, a smile spreading slowly over his face. Then a glass of bubbly to celebrate. I felt flushed, excited and ready for the rest of my life with the man I loved. We race to get on the train home. It screams to a halt and I run towards its open doors. Made it. I think he’s right behind me — but when I turn around, he’s gone.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
Tess Strebel can’t recognize her own face. She can’t recognize her home. Her bedroom is unfamiliar. And she can’t remember the handsome stranger lying next to her in bed. A stranger who claims he’s her husband. Tess reads a letter in her own handwriting, composed during a rare lucid day, explaining her life as it now exists: she was in a terrible car accident one year ago. Every morning, she wakes up unable to remember most of the last decade. Including her own wedding.

Murder and a Wedding: Cold Creek Mysteries, Book 5
By: Christa Nardi
Narrated by: Alyssa Baumann
Series: Cold Creek Mysteries , Book 5
4 STARS
This is the 5th book in this series. After Brett and Madddie pop the question Sheriden has a lot of choices to make. When a dead body turns up the sleuthing begins. There’s a lot of wedding planning that intertwines with the investigation.
A good quick listen.
The narration was done by Alyssa Baumann. Love the enthusiasm she adds.

A Wedding with Christa Nardi’s Flare
Once again Christa Nardi does not disappoint. A marriage proposal proposal, a Murder found by the bride and groom, and a wedding. Once again Christa Nardi has provided beautifully developed characters and a great story. If you haven’t ever read one of her books, I highly recommend them.

Beginning and Endings: Another great book in the series!
Murder and a Wedding is the last of the Cold Creek Mystery series by Christa Nardi. Brett and Maddie both ask Sheridan to marry them! There is much happiness as Sheridan, Maddie and Kim are busy making wedding preparations. Brett is busy investigating a dead man found in a local park. Everything collides when the dead man turns out to be the manager of the wedding venue! Something’s fishy and Kim and Sheridan start their own investigation. It’s bittersweet because Sheridan is moving from Cold Creek, her colleagues and the College. Christa Nardi creates realistic characters and dialog, along with believable situations, such as the academic world. The narration by Alyssa Baumann brings the characters and story to life.

A Wedding and a little murder
Murder and a Wedding is book 5 in the Cold Creek Mysteries by Christa Nardi. I find that the ending of a series that I enjoy has many emotions. I am saying good-bye to book friends I love reading about plus the author has to tie everything up and leave me smiling and happy with the conclusion...Christa Nardi has hit a home run! As always, this author writes a fantastic murder mystery. and Sheridan and Brett's wedding was perfect. But, the best thing that happens with this ending us the beginning of another wonderful series...Sheridan Hendly, Another Murder. PERFECTION!

Double trouble
This was a whirlwind of activity between wedding planning and finding a dead body and looking into possible nefarious activity. Don't blink or you'll miss something, because this is pack with action and dangerous people with ill intentions. Maddie was the true star with her adult actions. It's difficult to imagine Sheridan starting over in a new local but I look forward to more adventures with her. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Wedding Blues
I enjoyed book 5 of the "Cold Creek Mysteries" series as much as the other ones. Sheridan, Brett, and Maddie were enjoying their morning run, when Charlie, Sheridan's dog, found a dead body. Later they were told that the victim was the manager of "Hidden Oaks", the place where Maddie, as Sheridan's wedding planner, was hoping to have the wedding. The story had some surprising twists. There were some bittersweet moments as Sheridan faced the end of her time at "Cold Creek", and also for me as I realized that this was the last book in this series. Alyssa Baumann's narration was engrossing, and her performance kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Another Winner! Throughly Enjoyable!
When Brett proposes, he and Sheridan decide to forego the hoopla and have a small wedding without delay! Brett’s daughter Maddie thinks she’s found the perfect venue … until a sniff in the bushes by Charlie, the family Sheltie, turns up a body … the body of the manager of … you guessed it … the perfect venue! Uh oh! Welcome to “Murder and a Wedding”! Striking all the right notes, this story is perfect! I do love a well written mystery that keeps me guessing! Toss in a twisty plot that’s as intriguing as it is interesting and characters I’ve come to know, love and understand combined with a few fresh nefarious ne’er do wells, and I’m in heaven! And that’s exactly where I was listening to this beautifully narrated cosy mystery! I loved it, especially the wedding! Five fantastic stars!

Fascinating story, but I wanted more.
I love this series. Unfortunately, the stories just seem to end abruptly. Its as if there is a missing chapter.
