About this listen

A fallen body at the Royal Observatory sends Sherlock and Lucy on a stellar quest.

In the eerie pre-dawn glow of Victorian Greenwich, a young astronomer's assistant has mysteriously fallen to his death, seemingly from the sky. Black smoke and a flash of green light seen by the Astronomer Royal evoke the Martian attack from the popular novel "The War of the Worlds," and the assistant had been studying Mars. Sherlock and Lucy must take action.

Lucy searches the assistant's home, but finds it plundered. Holmes learns that an anarchist bombed the observatory exactly six years ago. The Astronomer Royal fears the bombing may be linked to the assistant's death and worries about a fundraising dinner that evening. Flynn follows a suspiciously erratic van loaded with astronomical guidebooks for the dinner. Then Lucy is captured by government gunmen dressed in black.

The Baker Street team must chart a course through a dark cosmos of crime, or their interstellar intrigue will end in disaster.

For fans of Conan Doyle's nostalgia, Agatha Christie's complex plots, and Lee Child's relentless pace, "Murder at the Royal Observatory" offers a new universe of mystery. It's a Victorian voyage with a modern twist, where Holmes and company face a challenge that's truly out of this world.
