About this listen
A murder mystery book set in London during the early 20th century.
In the heart of early 20th-century London, amidst advancing medical science and shadowy criminal underworlds, *Murder in the Fall* unravels a gripping tale of intrigue, bravery, and relentless pursuit of truth. Dr. Bryan Gray, an aspiring researcher and dedicated house surgeon, finds himself thrust into a world of danger and conspiracy as he navigates the cobbled streets and dark alleys of London, seeking justice and love.
Dr. Bryan Gray’s plans to resign from St. Timothy's Hospital for a promising research opportunity are interrupted when he secures a once-in-a-lifetime job offer from the famed Sir George Clifford. As he dreams of working alongside the illustrious Professor Carter, Bryan’s life takes an unexpected turn. When his friend, Dr. Mark Masalino, enlists his help to find a secretary for his wife Mary, Bryan's path crosses with Nancy Seymour under dramatic and life-changing circumstances. Impressed by her grit and competence, he introduces her to the Masalino family, setting off a series of events that entangle them in a sinister plot.
Just as Bryan prepares to leave the hospital behind, Nancy is kidnapped, plunging him into a harrowing rescue mission. The young surgeon uncovers dark secrets and shocking truths — Nancy is not only a brave and industrious woman but the granddaughter of the recently murdered Professor Carter. Determined to bring the culprits to justice, Bryan finds himself in a deadly cat-and-mouse chase, where betrayal and vindication hang in the balance. In the throes of danger, Bryan and Nancy forge a bond that blooms into a transformative love, both of them emerging stronger and ready to claim their rightful place in a world that tried to break them.

Basic plot but still a few curves. Kept it interesting. Something lacking with virtual voice.

Story Line
Loved the story but would have rather heard with voice actors then the technical voice over. It lacked any emotion to the telling of the story.

virtual voice
The story was good but there were several aspects, such as pausing after a period behind Mr. or Mrs., among the choppy, emotionless quality of the virtual voice that ruined the story.

Virtual voice ruined a good story
The story is a cute British period piece. Characters are delightful and plot is fun. The virtual voice is discordant and often does not match the text.
