ذات يوم يأتي حربي إلى بيت صفية فتتوقع أنه جاء من أجل طلب يدها ولكنها تتفاجئ بأنه جاء من أجل أن يطلب يدها لخاله القنصل. فتبدأ صفية بعد زواجها بنسج وقيعة بين القنصل وحربي تصل هذه الوقيعة إلى قتل القنصل فتقسم صفية على الانتقام من حربي وتلحق به كل ألوان التعذيب كما تلجؤ لشخص من أجل ان يقتله ولكن حربي يحتمي بالدير وهناك تكون النهاية ليجنَّ جنون صفية..

تحوّلت الرواية إلى مسلسل قصير لاقى نجاحًا جماهيريًا كبيرًا.
