About this listen

My Journey with God Through Stiff Person Syndrome is a riveting, heartfelt, and true story about a person living with a rare disease called stiff person syndrome. Author and narrator Tisha Foster gives credit to God for allowing her to live with this debilitating disease that creates triggers, distorts your walking, and creates a muscle spasm that puts you on the ground. It’s a disease that affects one out of every one million people, and Miss Foster is committed to bringing awareness to the world by sharing the symptoms, the hardship that it brings, and how it affects the people around an individual living with this disability. Take a ride through the fabulous life she once lived before being diagnosed with SPS, and the wonderful life she now lives with it, through the grace of God!

So encouraging!

My son has just been diagnosed with SPS. This has been one of the most disillusioning experiences of our lives. As I have been praying and holding on to my faith in the the Lord Jesus Christ and asking Him for strength and hope, I was led to this book! Thank you so much for sharing your story! It was exactly what I needed. Yes, God is real!!!!

**Most recommended for audiences of faith

This book was a remarkably vulnerable look into the eyes of a beautiful woman who loved a life of shopping, shoes, and all around life when her Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) hit.

Written and read in a voice that feels like she’s a longtime friend, catching up on the horrors of this syndrome, she takes the listener on a journey of what one would think MUST be overly dramatized, but as a fellow SPS sufferer, they aren’t.

I highly recommend this book for anyone:
1) Who reads or is familiar with the Bible. This is a deeply discussed walk with God, so while the author discusses a spasm, she will also address her pleas to God. Deeply emotional, one of the climactic events is in Church. The chapters each have a Bible verse or two. Great for religious people.
2) I wish my family would read this book. I wish they knew what this was like. So if you have a friend or family with SPS - and you aren’t close in distance or relationship to “see” the SPS spasms, this book does an INCREDIBLE job of vividly describing the spasm, the location, the fear, the pain, the attempts to communicate a syndrome too many doctors need to Google (not kidding, here), and addresses the difficulty of finding true care.
3) This is a wonderful example for SPS sufferers to find their way to God on their path, but also may help anyone else suffering, too. The author’s examples of prayer in action inspired me.

Thank you to the author for writing this book. I needed it. Much love to you.
