About this listen

In the idyllic town of Cottonwood Springs, set against the majestic backdrop of the Colorado Rockies, a sudden controversy disrupts its tranquil rhythm. The town is split down the middle, caught in a passionate debate: Football or band? Which should get the spotlight?

For most, the answer might seem trivial. But when the high school's football field is sabotaged, the turmoil escalates. The school board, quick to act, uses its discretionary funds for a total renovation of the football field. An act that would soon haunt them, as the school band gets a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform in Washington, D.C. Yet, without the funds, their dreams are left hanging by a thread.

Band members and their outraged parents are forced to question the priorities of their school and town. Was the love for football so all-consuming that it overshadowed the band's achievements? And in the aftermath of the field's destruction, would someone from the band be desperate enough to retaliate?

Amidst this educational tumult, Brigid faces personal challenges as well. A mysterious guest at the B & B she runs with her husband raises suspicions, and tensions rise in her marriage as they disagree on how to handle their enigmatic visitor.

Sheriff Davis and Brigid find themselves caught in the middle, trying to mend the rift in their community before more damage is done. But time is running out, as the threat of further retaliation looms large.

Dive into a world where small-town charm meets high-stakes drama, where every decision can shift the balance, and where the line between right and wrong is blurred. Will the town choose unity over division? Will Brigid find a balance in her personal and professional life?

Discover the answers in this gripping tale, the 17th installment of the Cottonwood Springs Cozy Mystery Series by a USA Today Bestselling Author. Where passion, mystery, and community collide.

feel good listen

I enjoyed being a part of the bed abd breakfast life and anxious to hear what comes next. I do not like virtual voice on any audiobook.

virtual voice

I only got to chapter 5. the virtual voice is just too monotone. no emotion, feelings, etc. won't listen to virtual again but had to try. was my first. good story with a lot of room for feelings, which robots / ai can't do.

Not very exciting

Wasn’t it very exciting plot line it was about who tore up the football field because the band didn’t get the money to go to DC. I’m not sure what kind of story that is.
