Publisher's summary

Natural Selection is the third installment in The Protocols series, a series chronicling the rise and impact of authoritarianism in the modern era -- from the Industrial Revolution to the end of the Second World War. It begins where the second book, Blood & Soil, left off. Europe is now ruled almost exclusively by authoritarians: Hitler in Germany, Stalin in the U.S.S.R., Mussolini in Italy, Franco in Spain; Metaxas in Greece. Only the military of the British Empire is actively resisting the authoritarian flood. As the story begins, France is about to fall. Only the English Channel stands between the German Wehrmacht and the conquest of the British Isles. Protecting this narrow passage are the fighter pilots of the RAF. They are about to engage in a decisive battle fought almost entirely in the air, the victor deciding England's fate. Like all the books in the series, Natural Selection is composed of excerpts taken from letters, memoirs, diaries, situation reports, radio transcripts, and other historical documents selected not only for their ability to illustrate the past, but for their relevance in terms of the times in which we live.
