About this listen

Navy Wife

Lindy Kyle flees to Seattle to weather a broken heart, but is unprepared for a roommate like Rush Callaghan. Strong, sensitive, and sexy, the temporarily dry-docked naval officer is everything she’s ever dreamed of in a man...and in a husband. Though they are swept away on a tide of passion, Rush holds duty to his country above all else. When he has to return to service, does Lindy have the courage to be his wife?

Navy Blues

Despite her ex-husband’s stubbornness, Carol knows Lieutenant Commander Steve Kyle would be the perfect man to father the child she so desperately wants. She also realizes that the strong, honorable man will never allow his child to be raised without him. So Carol needs to seduce Steve into her bed one last time....

Passion together was never the problem - it was the absences that tore them apart. Have they grown enough to risk trying again, especially when Carol’s plan seems about to work?

Navy wife.

Enjoyed it very much. The story line made you not want to put it down just to see what was going to happen next.

Review

was a little shocked at some of the descriptive sexual scenes. The other audio books by Debbie Macomber were more subdued, clean. The storyline though, in both books was excellent. As per usual, it draws me right in!!

Beware

If you’re counting on this being a clean live story like others by this author, you’re in for a rude awakening. Also, the second book is getting on my nerves. The heroine is way too self centered and manipulative for my taste.

Two stories combined into one book

Navy Wife was first published in 1991. There are so many references to things from the 1980’s, an example is pay phones. When Harlequin republishes a story, it would be great if they updated the technology. I don’t care for all the squabbles that take place (which was common for romance novels from that time period). I think I’ll stay with Debbie Macomber’s current stories.

this was definitely a harlequin romance

good story line but was a little too much like a harlequin romance for public listening

Critique

The story had a happy ending but getting through the stubborn stupidity of the man was frustrating.
It made no sense to have 2 people be so in love & have him be so distrustful & mean.
