About this listen

If you like to listen to bathroom stall jokes or ever wondered what would happen if the funny guy and his wife from your table top game group wrote a book, look no further because this book is for you. Imagine waking up to find out that not only had you died, but your consciousness had been transferred into a game and the only one to help you navigate your new reality is the unlikely sidekick who thinks you are a complete idiot. Written by a husband and wife, this other world adventure book is full of light hearted banter, dirty jokes, unconventional characters and slight undertones of the system being out to get you because, to the main character, it really is out to get him.

Creative Fusion

Ozz and Beth masterfully blend dark comedy with a touch of video game nostalgia, creating a refreshingly original take on the necromancer trope. The memorable setting and witty characters are a perfect blend comedy, fantasy, and video game homage that fans of any of these genres will find captivating. I cannot wait for a sequel!

Fun Ride!

This book is a really fun dark fantasy. Quirky and entertaining, the Osborns have really scratched a particular itch for readers. If you like Isekai anime, D&D and self deprecating humor, this is the book for you! I really enjoyed the pacing and found the overall story intriguing. Reading this new spin on an old premus felt like curling up with an old favorite but had the excitement of not knowing where the story would take you. The narrator for the audiobook had a pleasant voice and was engaging. I especially appreciated the way he gave each character their own voice. I found most of the book to be very light, for a dark fantasy, which is not an easy task to pull off. Beth and Ozz really hit the sweet spot between twisted and fun without putting me off. Looking forward to continuing the story in their next novel!
