About this listen

If you thought the tales ended with Wendy think again...

The stories of the infamous Peter Pan has been passed down Wyn's family for generations. But now the tales hang over her like a shameful reminder of their entwined history with the fabled place. That is, until she discoversthat the stories were in fact true.

Lost in a Neverland much different to the tales she'd been told, she must find a way home. But when the evil that lurks there rears its ugly head, she finds herself inescapably caught up in the midst of it all.

With the fate of Neverland hanging in the balance, Wyn must decide which path to take; the one that leads her home or the one that leads to trouble.

Book one in the Neverlander Series.

Clear and engaging narration of a dark re-imagining!

The story as a whole is a darker YA re-imagining of the world in Peter Pan. In general, the story is good fun and intriguing from start to finish. The end left me wanting more answers but hopefully future books will deliver. The narration was fantastic: the narrator used sufficiently fun and different voices for characters, was clear and easily understood at higher listening speeds, yet remained engaging enough to make slower listening speeds enjoyable. Brava to author and narrator alike!

Not at all what I expected!

I really enjoy books of this nature where the author explores new stories within known fairy tales. This take is unique and interesting especially since so many of the original main characters function differently than they do in the primary story. The performance of the narrator was excellent. She very much captured the aesthetic of the era while setting the tone for the novel that allowed the story to develop very naturally. I would definitely recommend this book and any book with this narrator!

Give it a try

This reimaginatipn of the Peter Pan universe is ok if you’re a thirteen year old girl. Lots of imagery of flowing hair, a magical acorn necklace, ethereal pixies, and menacing fantasy creatures. It is a little slow to get going, but then immerses you in its drama. The narration is well done and very evocative.
