Tight, well told, engaging ghost story

Any additional comments?

I'm usually not a big fan of supernatural tales. I liked this one because it was, above all, a well told story. The author is also an excellent narrator/performer. Character voices are distinct, apt & recognizable, but not over stylized.

For a haunted house tale, the horror element is somewhat subdued. Better description might be a "chilling mystery." I'm middle aged, and didn't feel at all mistargeted, but the ages of the protagonists (and lack of inappropriate content) will mean this work has YA appeal as well.

The authors' note at the end was a nice touch. Although I'm used to that as a listener of Outfield's various podcasts.
