About this listen
Born the daughter of a witch, Sarah is no stranger to magic. But when she meets an immortal, she quickly discovers that nothing can compare to the magic of being loved by a vampire.
Night Breed is Book 2, in the four book Immortal Destiny Series.
Coming from a long line of powerful witches, the only thing Sarah has ever wanted is to have a normal life, but a normal life is not part of her destiny. She is one of the immortal sisters, and her fate is one of darkness. But within that darkness, she will discover a love that she could never have imagined.
While Nicole and the Light Seekers search for the two remaining sisters, Sarah is on her own and unaware that she is the target of an ancient and powerful vampire… a vampire that wants her dead.
Darrien is a cold and ruthless vampire. He kills without conscience, and is the perfect assassin to rid the ancients of the immortal sisters, but when he looks into Sarah's eyes, he is consumed with a fiery passion that not even his bloodlust can overcome.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

My second favorite book in the series.
Night Breed is my second favorite book in the series. I Just finished Wolves and Black Roses, which is my first favorite. It was a close toss up between the two of course. Darrien and Sarah are the main characters in this one. True love is tested, and to love someone for who they are, rather than what they are or how they look, is the true test of that love. This is one romantic read.

AWESOME STORY + GREAT NARRATORS =AWESOMELY GREAT!
THE AMAZING AUTHOR - LORRAINE KENNEDY!
I purchased all four paperback books from Lorraine Kennedy, in the Immortal Destiny Series, and I really enjoyed them all. She writes about paranormal-vampire-wolf-mixed breed creatures in this edgy romance - all taking place in the modern world. These creatures of the night who live among us, maintain the traditional formalities of long ago, which include romance (which our generation sorely lacks), traditions, respect for women and order of life & death.
WARNING: If you don't appreciate TRUE AND REAL ROMANCE, than you won't like this audio book. It is not a "smut" book that seems to be the trend these days. The Immortal Destiny Series books are TRUE ROMANCE stories. Example (for those who don't know the difference): True romance includes things such as: A man holding the door open for a woman, or the tension of wanting, but waiting for the "final act", and not rushing sex - a touch, a whisper, a scent, the look in your lovers eyes, a 'tear' - the hunt and the chase, and so on.
ON TO THE AUDIO BOOK - NARRATED BY DESTINY LANDON & LEE JAMES
"FABULOUS-NOUS AT IT'S BEST!" FIVE STARS
I just finished "listening" to the audio book Night Breed, narrated by one of my new favorites Destiny Landon and Lee James, and I must say, this audio book took my breath away. Sarah, is the beautiful, flame haired young witch who is just learning of her powers and purpose in this world. She must trust lycans and similar "shady character"sorts, in her journey to pretty much, saving the world. In the end, a hideously, disfigured, monstrosity loves her like no other being ... but can she love him in return - as only he has proven to be the one thing in this realm that would give his life to protect her and love her, from anything in this world, or the other worlds, that would bring harm to her?
It is imperative that you read each of the books in the Immortal Destiny Series in the right order or you will be lost (and listen to them in the audio book format of course in the right order as well). Each ending is a cliffhanger in each book, that is rewarded in in the next book. The main characters, which are many, each possess a meaningful and important role to each book that continues into the next book in the series. It is rare to find an author that can maintain order within the web she has weaved with the many characters taking several different paths - having some returning to their initial destination, some dying off, others "turning", and so on. Lorraine creates one big maze, which actually makes sense at the end of each book, but will definitely exercise you brain power. You will come away with the thought of, 'how did she do that?" At least, that is what happened to me.
And what counts in these reviews, is each individuals unbiased, self induced evaluation of a piece of work we take in and regurgitate to help others find great art in this big circle.
PLEASE MAKE NOTE:
Please listen to this audio book with exceptional mind focus because there are some characters that take on various "depths", and if you do not listen with extreme intent to understand what you are hearing, you may get lost. I did get lost, but then I took a moment to think about what I just heard, to go deep within my understanding of how certain incidences could 'happen', and then my mind went 'OHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" I get what just happened ... I get who she is ... and WOW ... I get who "she" is too! So PLEASE REMEMBER!! This is a story written by an author who travels MANY LAYERS DEEP in character creations! It is not for the shallow of thought.
I am soooo looking forward to listening to the other audio books in the Immortal Destiny Series.

why so much music?!?!
Is it necessary to have music at the beginning of each chapter bad well as in between the different sections? It seems a bit excessive and annoying. Destiny was an ok narrator but was not impressed with Lee.
The series is good, but hard to listen to with the narration and music.

Performance made me return this audio.
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
No one. It's the performers who were terrible.
Would you ever listen to anything by Lorraine Kennedy again?
Not with these two performers.
What didn’t you like about Destiny Landon and Lee James ’s performance?
I did not. They were both terrible.
