Fantastic Story

I love revisiting the adventures of Suze and Jesse. I loved the continual story of finding Red and it not being who you expect

Pleasantly surprised

I listened to this book to get a feel for what my 13 year old daughter was reading. I didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The plot was interesting, the main character was reasonably well developed, and I ended up caring about the outcome. The author taps into teenage girl angst without being overly dramatic or sappy. I thought it might be a struggle to get through, but instead it was enjoyable.

Re-read worthy!

I had read the series when I was about 12 years old, but saw it was a free credit on Audible… even 15 years later it’s still such a great read.

Great Listen

This being her second book in the series is just as good as her first. The only downside is that she is a bit redundant in this book. In this story she fills you in with practically everything that happened in the previous book, so if you listened to the first book and then this one she rather wasted alot of time. After I got through with the outline of the first book this story line really took off. I hope she doesn't do that in the next book of the series, if you haven't heard the books in succesion than it would make you want to learn what happened in book 1.

I love this series!

In the second book in the Mediator series, Suze is settling in with her new family in California, and in her new school. Tad asks her out on a date and Suze is excited to be dating such a hot guy, until she meets his weird dad and even weirder assistant. And Jesse presents a mystery of his own.

I will never not love this series, it's always 5 stars from me. Although this is my least favorite of the Suze's mysteries, the ending always makes me tear up. Jesse and Suze have great chemistry, and I love them together. Suze still refuses help and makes some really bad judgment calls, but there's hope for her by the end.

This audiobook was recorded back in 2005, so it doesn't have the crispness of modern day audio, it reminds me of listening to cassette tapes back in the day. But the narrator does a good job and pulls me into the story.

Everything I Needed This to Be

Years ago, I read Haunted. I did not know at the time that it was the fifth book in this series but I thought about it frequently for years.

When I did finally find out that it was a series, I was exceptionally hesitant to read the earlier books because I already knew the characters and I didn't want an introductory to them again. I just wanted more story, so it took me a couple more years to decide to read the other books anyway.

I have not read the first book still. The idea of being introduced to the characters I already like still annoys me, despite the fact that it does sound like there was a glorious fight scene in the first one.

I think I made the right decision after reading this book (which is the second in the series). It's fun to see Suze come in to her own. It's cute to see her and Jesse interact more without the fun (and honestly my favorite) villain of Haunted involved yet.

Everything about this book was wonderful. It's very Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Ghosts but I like it a lot. I'm so happy I read it.
