About this listen

What has happened to the American spirit? We've gone from "Give me liberty, or give me death!" to "Take care of me, please." Our colleges were once bastions of free speech; now they're bastions of speech codes. Our culture once rewarded independence; now it rewards victimhood. Parents once taught their kids how to fend for themselves; now, any parent who tries may get a visit from the police.

In Not a Day Care, Dr. Everett Piper, president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University and author of the viral essay, "This Is Not a Day Care. It's a University!" takes a hard look at what's happening around the country - including the demand for "safe spaces" and trigger warnings at universities like Yale, Brandeis, and Oberlin - and digs in his heels against the sad and dangerous infantilization of the American spirit.

Plain Biblically Based Truth

Read this book. It's great and insightful. It speaks to many of the issues our country is facing due to laxidadical parenting coupled with the inflated ego and narcissism of today's youth.

Spot on, SO practical and true!!! Read this book!

Finally someone has the courage to say what needs to be said without mincing words. This is a book everyone should read. Open your eyes and ears, people, stop being mindless cattle following the media andbthe person in front of you. We've all been given a brain, use it for a change.

A must read for every parent.

A must read for every parent. This book challenges the ways in which we have been taught to view higher education. It deals with the state of academia, and what is sold to parents as Christian college education. It considers the deep dangers of failing to discriminate between (and prioritize) the historical primary goals of a liberal arts education, being ultimately and in equal measures, the pursuit of truth and character, juxtaposed to the utilitarian materialistic focus that has decreased liberal arts education to it's current state of substandard scholarship, moral chaos and blind indoctrination.

Happy to read it

Choose the world or choose Christ, pretty simple. Brainwashing of young minds to believe the khaos of modern liberalism is the pure essence of evil. Modern liberalism has devolved into ancient luciferianism. The modern American public universities act as lucifer's temples.

a must-read for our current times

Once again Dr Piper has the courage to say what needs to be said and what must be said. Like too many others I've witnessed firsthand the devastating effect of sending a student to a progressive leaning state college without continued parental involvement and guidance. Even a young man raised in a loving home with two parents who attended church on a regular basis was not immune from indoctrination . He entered the University as a highly decorated Eagle Scout and graduated as a gender fluid Marxist.

Myonly issue with this book was the reader, John McClain. If I had to venture a guess I would say every word in this book goes against his beliefs - it almost came across as a snarky tone. Therefore I recommend reading this book rather than listening to this book.

Excellent book that addresses today's problems

I loved the book. The content was great. I did not care for the narrator. He came across as the bully down the street, instead of the concerned Christian bringing forth truth.
