I picked this up because I’ve been craving deeper connections as I’ve gotten older. It really got me thinking about the kinds of friendships I want and how to actually build them. The advice felt relatable, not preachy, and it helped me realize I’m not the only one trying to figure this out. I’ve already started putting some of the ideas into practice and it’s made a difference. Definitely worth reading if you’re feeling a little stuck socially.

I didn’t think I’d be building new friendships at this stage of life, but this audiobook showed me it’s not only possible, it’s necessary. I related so much to the part about outgrowing certain relationships and craving deeper, more aligned ones. The examples and prompts nudged me to reflect on what kind of friendships I actually want now. I even reached out to someone I’d been thinking about for months. Felt like getting permission to start fresh—and I’m so glad I did.

I’m in a new chapter of life, my kids are all in college now, and I’ve recently moved to a brand-new area. It’s been a big shift, and honestly, I’ve been feeling the weight of that change. I’ve found myself wanting to have some new positive friendships, with people that have similar interests, who bring companionship and fun. I wasn’t sure how to make that happen as I am now in my fifties. It felt a little uncomfortable, like I was starting from scratch. I didn’t think I’d be building new friendships at this stage of life, but this audiobook reminded me that it is possible and good for me. The part about outgrowing old relationships really hit home. I’ve been feeling that as I have been growing and changing that some of my past friendships weren't that great. This book has helped me dig deeper into how I feel. The reflections and prompts helped me get clear on the kind of friendships I truly want now, and how to start finding them. Positive helpful advice, I really enjoyed this book.
