Some people bounce back in response to setbacks; others break. We often think that these responses are hardwired, but fortunately this is not the case. Stoicism offers us an alternative approach. Plumbing the wisdom of one of the most popular and successful schools of thought from ancient Rome, philosopher William B. Irvine teaches us to turn any challenge on its head. The Stoic Challenge, then, is the ultimate guide to improving your quality of life through tactics developed by ancient Stoics, from Marcus Aurelius and Seneca to Epictetus.

Great Preparation for new nurses and their family
I bought this book for my daughter (an aspiring nurse) and listen to it myself - I had no real appreciation of the nursing job - I feel I understand her profession so much better now - and can support her. She just started listening to the book as well and is half way through - her comments were:" exactly what I needed!" So I believe this is a great book to prepare young nurses and their families for years to come :)

The Realities of Being A Nurse
I've always adored nurses for their dedication to their profession and their commitment to providing the best possible care for their patients. They consistently go above and beyond. Before college, I considered attending nursing school, but my plans changed. Now, through this audiobook, I got a glimpse of what my life might have been like had I pursued my first career choice. It offered me a new perspective on the challenges nurses face and how they thrive in the most critical situations. I highly recommend this book to anyone considering a career in nursing.

The real struggle nurses face in todays hospitals
After listening to this audiobook, I finally get the challenges nurses face every day. It’s not just about patient care—there’s so much pressure, long hours, and emotional exhaustion that no one warns you about. The real-life stories were eye-opening, and the advice felt like it came from someone who has lived it. I have a new respect for nurses and a better understanding of what they go through. If you want the real truth, take a listen.
