About this listen

Fear and love guide all life - Laura lives in fear.

Laura McCauley, a 33-year-old businesswoman successfully established her life in fashion, opened a series of boutiques, and then sold them for enough money to be comfortable for the remainder of her life. Yet, despite all the trappings of her success, Laura is driven by fear.

Through a supernatural experience, she finds strength to end a destructive relationship and begin a new life - one where she can learn how to love herself.

Off the Hook, a paranormal romantic mystery, is a journey toward finding new beginnings. Laura encounters a mystical guide who shows her never-explored pathways of self-discovery. Her guide takes her from Manhattan to Miami where she faces life-threatening challenges and life-transforming love.

Off the Hook provides insight into the dangers of unconscious living and how to turn life's defeats into victory.

Where does Off the Hook rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Only my third audiobook. Very good

What was one of the most memorable moments of Off the Hook?

There were several. Most heart racing was when Laura was in the car to the airport. The driver/bodyguard saw they were being followed and then attacked by gunfire.

What does Nancy J. Alexander bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The ability of bringing the tone of each character to life giving them an individual personality.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but was not able to. I will listen to it again in perhaps 3 sessions rather than 7-8.

Any additional comments?

I liked following the growth of the main character Laura. Seth brought much insight of human nature to the book. I found myself bookmarking much of what he said to be able to go back and listen again. The characters were very interesting and diverse.
All in all the book sends a most positive message. I will definitely go back and read it again.
