What not to do

Cute story. It’s actually Olivia and a classmate that get lost. It’s a fairly realistic predicament the kids get themselves into. Although this is the lead to further stories (since Olivia is excited to see what other adventures she can have), I’d hope kids reading this get an idea of the potential seriousness of the seemingly harmless choice these kids made when they decided to do what they knew was not acceptable.
The story has a little lesson concerning the destruction of the rainforest. I hope future novels incorporate lessons like this and maybe a little more in-depth.

This is the first book I’ve listened to by this author and I would listen to another.

This is the first book I’ve listened to by this narrator. I would definitely listen to another.

There are no explicit sex scenes or excessive violence or swearing.

A good kids book

This book had a bit of a slow start. It steadily got more interesting. The intended audience was children likely upper elementary. Although, it could be used to expand vocabulary as well. There was an overall lesson on following directions/ breaking rules that was well illustrated. I did enjoy the adventure and exploration of the rainforest.

Fun Adventure for Kids

I listened with my kids (13, 11, and 9 year old). We all enjoyed the story and it's quick pace. I can see it being great for a short car trip. Their only criticism was the narrator's voice; they thought it was a little grating and kind of high pitched, like she was trying to read to littler kids. Overall, it was a fun story.

Olivia Turner's Poor Choices

This was an adventure story designed for the younger ages. I found it interesting with a few factual pieces of information. The main point to be taken from this is not where the adventure took place, but what was done in regards to the safety of youth on these trips. Often times those who are younger lack the information background and experience to make a sound judgment regarding their own safety. It was an adventure book for teens and so much more. I received this book free for a fair and balanced review.
