Sweet Cinderella Retelling
This is the first book in The Billionaire Fairy Tales. This is a great start to this retelling series of some classics. Ella and Dax's story is sweet and entertaining. It's an interesting adaptation of Cinderella. Shiloh James and Jim Catapano have done a great job bringing this story to life. I can't wait to listen to Once upon a Best, the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Romantic
Once upon a Prince by MacKenzie Stowe is a fantastic fantasy fairytale. Shiloh James and Jim Catapano did a fantastic job with the narration. This series is a new take on some of the old classics. This story is a retelling of Cinderella in modern times. It’s fun, interesting, entertaining, enjoyable, and humorous. There is no Prince Charming, but her father’s business partner’s now her boss. (I kind of wish Dex was a little more grumpy). Will Ella be able to stay out of her stepmother’s clutches? Can their blossoming relationship with stand her stepmother? Can Ella stand up to her stepmother? Can Ella trust and find love with Dax? I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sweet, Spicy & Charming! Great Story & Narration🎧
I always love me a good fairytale retelling and MacKenzie Stowe puts her own spin on the classic “Cinderella” modernizing and switching it up to a contemporary office romance. After Ella Taylor’s father passed away, she was at the mercy of her evil stepmother and stepsisters, who demanded she take care of, as well as help run the family business, Taylor Med. Ella managed her time well and got competent people to run the company so she could get away and work for a company run by one of her late father’s friends, Mr. Moore. She will be an assistant to his son, Dax, who is being groomed to be his father’s successor for when he retires in the future. She had met Dax when he was a kid, while he was in Nebraska, and she also made two of her best friends that same year, Layla and Ara, who invited her to live with her while in New York. Ella is smart and hardworking, but the first time her new boss sees her, he gets the wrong impression of her. That impression quickly changes to admiration because she excels in her position and is great at everything she does. They have a good rapport and work well together, and when he catches some employees badmouthing her, he goes into protective mode, despite her objections. He soon realizes his feelings and attraction for Ella are deepening, and invites her to join him on a business trip, for her expertise in dealing and reading people. It was great to watch these two dance around each other, Ella determined to keep it professional, and Dax wanted it to be something more. He does not know much about her home life or situation with her family’s company, but his father fills him in on what he knows and when she tells him what the deal is with her stepmother, it raises some flags. When her stepmother finds out that Ella is happy, she comes to New York and demands that she go back home, except Ella is prepared for her and stands up to her stepmother for the first time. I enjoyed this book immensely, the writing, plot and world building are excellent and the story captivated my attention from start to end. The drama is non-stop and there is a perfect balance of heartwarming moments and heartfelt ones, and a slow burn, yet spicy romance. MacKenzie Stowe, thank you for this charming story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Shiloh James and Jim Catapano were the perfect cast to bring the characters and story to life. They had a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each their own voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters would sound. Ms. James nailed it as Ella, grasping every side of her personality, from her determination and confidence with her job, her professionalism, to her passion, to her strength to deal with her stepmother, head on. Catapano was just as fabulous as Dax and was a natural in that role. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These two are entertaining storytellers and their performance elevated his already great story to another level. Thank you, I hope to hear more of your fabulous audiobook listens again soon.

Modern Cinderella
This is a modern Cinderella story. Ella’s father dies. She believes her father left the business to her stepmother. She is worked and treated hard. She ran the business, but was treated like crap. She hired people to cover her duties, so she could branch out. She starts working for her father’s friend as his son’s assistant. Dax feels he does not want/need an assistant. So, instant friction. Soon he realizes how overqualified she is and things take a turn for the better. In the end, Ella wins. She gets her father’s company back from her lying stepmother. I really enjoyed this story. I reviewed the audiobook, and the narration was excellent. I received a free copy of the audiobook, and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Modern-day Cinderella retelling
This is a captivating modern-day Cinderella retelling, brought to life by the fantastic narrators Shiloh James and Jim Catapano. Ella Taylor escapes her controlling stepmother to start fresh in New York, working for Dax Moore, her late father’s business partner’s son. The chemistry between Ella and Dax evolves from professional to romantic as they navigate long hours together. James and Catapano deliver outstanding performances, capturing the emotional intensity and charm of the characters. James shines as Ella, perfectly portraying her strength and vulnerability, while Catapano gives depth to Dax’s journey from skeptic to protector. This steamy, heartwarming office romance will sweep you away with a guaranteed happily ever after.

Rooting for Ella
I loved this take on a modern-day Cinderella. The characters were real life, and their struggles could be any of us. This is book 1 of The Billionaire Fairy Tales and is a standalone story. It also introduces us to the other characters for future books in this series. It is a romantic fairy tale that does have a happy ever after. I could listen to this book over and over.
