About this listen
She has a secret.
He needs the truth. Is it possible to rekindle a love gone wrong? Veterinarian Sara Arden made a mistake when she was a sixteen-year-old girl. The mistake wasn’t in falling in love with rancher Lloyd Dawson. It wasn’t even in getting pregnant. Sure, that part could have waited, but the mistake was in never telling him she had his daughter. Now, thirty-two years later, she’s back in Aspen Cove with her daughter, Reese. And this time, there won’t be any denying the truth.
Lloyd Dawson had lost a lot over the years. He’d had two great loves in his life—Sara Arden, who’d left him thirty-two years ago without a word, and Carol, who died in his arms several years ago. One was never coming back, but the other is sitting right there in front of him. But all he can see is the woman sitting next to her—the younger woman who is staring right back at him with eyes just like his. With betrayal twisting in his gut, Lloyd knows he’ll never be able to forgive Sara for robbing him of watching his child grow up.
When things go bad at the ranch, and Lloyd needs a veterinarian, Sara is his only choice. Will his crisis give her the chance she needs to make things up to him? Or will it be just another opportunity for her to betray him? Aspen Cove, where there is always a second chance for a first love…

Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. Second Chances
This second chance romance was sweet. Lloyd finds out he has a thirty-two year old daughter, Reese from his first love, Sarah. He gets the opportunity to find out what happened all those years ago. They may get their HEA after all these years, if he can convince her to stay. Logan McAllister did a great job. I love this series and the characters in this small town.

Another Chance!
We all deserve another chance at love when our first love is lost, no matter the circumstances. Sara and Lloyd had a teenage affair however things didn’t turn out for them and thirty-two years later they are brought back together. Will their love still be strong enough to give them another chance? This is such a heartwarming and beautiful story. I loved all the wonderful characters introduced in this story, new and old. It was fun, exciting and sweet and Logan McAllister does an exceptional job narrating it, as usual. I am more than happy to recommend it. Thank you Ms Collins for giving me the opportunity to listen to this wonderful audiobook.

Second Chance, Sweet Heat, Later in Life Love Found!
Lloyd and Sarah’s story is a slow burn, sweet heat, second chance romance with all the feels! I love how author Kelly Collins develops their new relationship while we revisit their past and get glimpses of who they were and how they have grown and developed in their time apart. Sarah’s strong willed independent streak is amazing, and it’s fun to watch how each of Lloyd’s grown kids react and interact with Sarah and Reese. Lloyd’s own strong character and alpha male protector vibe is gorgeously balanced as he navigates his new world and introduces Sarah to his reality. Found love later in life always touches my soul, and this one delivers big time!
The narrator does a fabulous job of bringing this beautiful story to audio life. Each of the characters voices and personalities really shine through.
Loved it!!!

First love. Can there be a second chance for them?
Another beautiful story by Kelly in Aspen Cove.
With characters we already love making appearances it’s time for Lloyd’s story.
After his devastating loss of his wife a few years ago and the town rallying around him in his time of need Lloyd is coming to terms with his single life on the ranch.
However, coming face to face with his first love was shock enough but to see a woman with her that can be none other than his flesh and blood, floors him.
She sure has a lot to explain and he wants immediate answers.
Lloyd and Sara’s time together as teenagers was cut short.
Having lost her all those years ago he moved on met another, married and had a large family.
At seeing each other again neither are able to forget the love they once shared.
This story navigates their feelings for each other, the reasons why he did not know about his grown up daughter, her going above and beyond trying to help Lloyd out in a time of need.
Two at times misunderstood people learning to relax and enjoy what makes them happy.
Another winner with wonderful characters, storyline and narration.

A wonderful addition to the series
In this latest audiobook of this much loved series, we are transported back to Aspen Cove. A place where many go to visit or return after years away never expecting to find love and a permanent home.
This time the story belongs Sara Arden and Lloyd Dawson.
Sara, nowadays a veterinarian , left the town and her HS boyfriend , Lloyd, when she was 16. Fast forward 32 years later, and Lloyd is now a rancher and a widower.
He was heartbroken then and never knew that Sara had had his child.
When Lloyd finds out Sara’s betrayal, he is beyond irate and wants nothing to do with Sara.
But fate intervenes when a vet is needed at his ranch and Sara is the only option.
Will that be the start of forgiveness and maybe a second chance in life and love? Or will that betrayal keep them apart?
As a mature individual, I specially enjoyed the fact that these two were older.
Always enjoy listening to the narrator, Logan McAllister, bring the stories to life.
Another winner in the series.

The Narration Is An Enhancement
****Audiobook Review 4.21.24****
Enjoyed the story again. The narration was only an enhancement to an entertaining story.
****ebook Review 8.18.22****
This second chance romance had so many positive elements in it. I really wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Sara based on her performance in the previous book.
Sara started out being Sara, Reese's mother. Once she started to embrace her teenaged Sara, her personality took a turn for the better. I really didn't expect Lloyd and Sara to come together as quickly as the did.
While reconnecting after 20+ years, their romance proved to be sweet. Their banter was sarcastic and often funny. There was also some very mild heat. I did love that all 7 kids were firmly behind Lloyd and Sara getting together with no drama.
I enjoy revisiting Aspen Cove, as well as some of the characters from the previous books. I always end up reading these books in one sitting, no matter how hard I try to break it up, lol. I usually end up feeling pretty lighthearted with a smile on my face.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via Booksprout.

not my favorite of the series, but still enjoyable
sara was a hard one to like in this book. I'd five 3 1/2 stars for story if I could, just because she never really made the apologies I felt like she needed to truly redeem herself. but I adore Aspen Cove and all its cast of characters
