About this listen
One night in Malibu, he comes to the rescue of a distraught woman holding a gun in the doorway of a fabulous beach house. When the woman disappears and the gun shows up in his car, Mac is pulled into a web of deception and lies.
His quest to find her takes him from southern California to the beaches of Mexico, to the streets of Rome, and the countryside of France. All the while, he's one step behind an elusive murderer, and one step ahead of an actress who wants nothing more than to get lost.

Here is the story of three families: the Warrens and the Whytes, wealthy, powerful, and connected by the marriage of Deborah Warren and Mark Whyte; and the not-so-wealthy Morells - Cassie, the loyal housekeeper for the Warrens, and her daughter, Katia, who grew up with and adores the Warren and Whyte children."

This was nice
I enjoyed the less dramatic mystery story. I wished the narrator differentiated the voices better but I otherwise enjoyed her work as well.
Story was cool. I hadn’t expected all the twists and turns. I did not like the scene with the shotgun that was a low blow. I’m not the kind of person who wants to listen to an audiobook to sad cry. That aside good story, was enjoyable to listen to. :)

Just loved it though it is a bit long.
I enjoyed this book very much. All the characters were well developed and all the dogs were endearing except the one little villain who was mean and spoiled. Every book needs a villain and a hero but there were more than one of each in this book. There was mystery, suspense, romance, and interesting travel with descriptions that made the reader go there with the characters. The narration was good too. Overall one of the best books I have listened to so far.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful
I couldn’t stop listening to this book. It was full of rich characters and an intriguing story. I love the two main characters and have enjoyed every book in which they’ve appeared. The narrator is outstanding. The story moves. I was sorry for the book to end. It was so much fun!

story about the dumbest people
How can the guy be a famous detective while being an absolute idiot? In fact, every single person in the story are so stupid you'd expect them to for how to breathe. The narrator was very good, though. It's just too bad the material was so mind numbing.

The writing was OK but the story was all over the place. I am sure that it would come together by the end but I just couldn't stay interested.
I have read other books by this author and enjoyed them but I think I will skip this series.
