Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. Story
After watching my mother succumb to a mysterious illness, I promised myself two things. I'd find the cure for what ravaged her and leave the godforsaken city where she abandoned me. Four years later, I received an acceptance letter from Dracadia University, one of the oldest most prestigious schools in the country. Nestled on a secluded island off the coast of Maine, it's rumored to be haunted by the souls of the mental patients exiled there centuries before, those whose bones are said to make up the island's white sandy shores. And restless ghosts aren't even its most daunting peculiarity.

Unlikely betrothal
Only a Rake Will Do by Christina Diane is a great Victorian Regency romance. C. C. Kline did a great job on the narration. What you want in a significant other might be the person you least expect. They might be closer than you expect. This story is a key example of that.

Short, sweet, and spicy
This was a super fun and fast listen. The narrator’s voice and accent worked well for the story. The MMC is very likable in the way he prioritizes consent and respects the FMC — even though she had some misguided ideas about relationships. It was impressive how Diane demonstrated character development and growth for the FMC is such a short format. Don’t miss it if you like regency themes and romance.

A Rake
This was a sweet coming of age book. Arthur was the most perfect rake for the youngest sister and everything on her list for a husband. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator had the habit of leaving off the " g" on words like making and they sounded like slang words a lower class of people fall into using. As these were upper class women , they wouldn't talk like this. It was a glaring distraction when I listened.

Steamy, Sweet Romance
Grace is written so well and so pure with a hint of inquisitive naughtiness and Arthur ends up being perfect for her. The fact that they have known each other for so long and then a dance/get together is what pushes them to the point where they see they want more than friendship is sweet.
The setting came off well showing the familial relationships between siblings and how friends of family in that age could easily end up being family members.
Love this narrator as well, her accent makes this more believable even with the distinction in the tone. Some of the enunciation is a bit off from what was the class being portrayed (as a historian, it is obvious the characters what we would call the 1% or super rich today). Didn't take anything away from the amazing narration work done and the story going right with it.
Excited to hear more of the series.
