About this listen

After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, Daemon's facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.

Surrounded by enemies, the only way Katy can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don't seem entirely crazy, but the group's goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on? And will they even be together?

Cliff hanger endings

The previous book ended in a nail biter, and this one picks up the plot seamlessly and puts you right back in the action. Wow wow wow

I can't tell...

...if I'm not enjoying the story as much because of the female narrator or if it's just not that great. So I've given it 3.5stars rounded up. I like the story enough to continue.

Narrators:
Rob Shaprio - 4stars
Justine Eyre - 2.5 stars- Her voice is just too scratchy to listen to for long. She sounds way too old to be playing a teenager.

The Series Gets Richer and Ricer in intrigue

In order to appreciate this novel you have to start at the beginning. In Origin, the DoD takes the stage front and center. I will not say more about this; but what is outstanding is the way Armentrout continues to widen the the plot. In the first novel, you get lulled into thinking this is a trite YA romance about aliens, and by this book she has widened the scope and brought many serious issues to bear. She masterfully brings up relevant issues that affect us in society today. If you look beyond her story for her message, I think you'll be impressed with the questions she raises and her opinions she has offered so far.

In this book, Eyre reads from Kat's POV and Shapiro from for Daemons's. This narration is especially potent in the audio book, I am not sure it would be as good if you were reading it. The author's ability to use dialog to move the story forward is excellent as is her character development. I highly recommend the book and I can't wait for the final outcome. If the last four books are any indication, it should be a hit. I hope so, because book three of Divergent and Hunger Games were such a disappointment. That said, on to book 5.

in love with the blacks

Love the split narration. The story... everything. Obsessed. In the beginning of the series it felt a little like another twilight... but now I can't think of anything these two series has in common. Simply amazing amazing, could listen to it in one setting.

On the edge of my seat...

You never know when the end of one book is coming or the new one is about to start. All action & romance - all the time. I'm getting through these books way too fast. Impressed with female narrator.

5++ Origin Stars

The best book yet!

Holy Moly so much happens, Deamon is either incredibly awesome or incredibly dumb and I say that with all the love.
Katy and Deamon both go through a H – E – L– L like they have never known. But they also gain a lot of information I would never have expected.

I love that it isn’t predictable, even having read this series once before I still forgot huge chunks of what happened. So it feels like getting to read it for the first time all over again.

Each book ends on a cliffy and I am coming to find out they are all more intense than the last. I can’t read book 5 like NOW!

I really liked the dual narration; I found I am getting to like Justine Eyre as Katy and Rob Shapiro is totally Deamon. The tone and inflection he uses are exactly how I see Deamon, the self-assured tone and I even feel like you can hear the smirk in his voice. LOVE.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

The big moment

So I binged through the physical books up until about 5 chapters into the next one but I was so emotional and I couldn’t continue because I was afraid of knowing what happens. After divergent went and HURT me with its ending I got very worried the characters wouldn’t end up together. So now I’m caught up almost and about to dive in and the things this story makes me feel are truly unbelievable. Even thought it hits some of my YA pet peeves I just adore this story so much. The depiction of love is just very intoxicating . Love this series. It truly should be like maze runner levels of renowned

Great story but….

I absolutely loved this novel more than the others in the series. However the female narrator killed it for me. I read rather than listened to the first three in the series and I am very glad I did. The female narrator whispered throughout the story and the mispronunciation of Day-mon was really annoying. Overall the story was action packed but I would recommend reading rather than listening.
