Publisher's summary

Our Lady of the Absolute is the sequel to Murder in the Black Land.

Ancient Egypt meets the modern day in this historical fantasy novel.

To save her husband’s soul from destruction, an innocent and trusting woman delves into a web of lies and manipulation. She doesn’t know the local priests have sent a serial killer to stop her from uncovering the truth that would end their power.

In an alternate history where a modern-day country worships the gods of ancient Egypt, Meres is horrified to see her husband nailed into a sarcophagus and thrown into the river during a festival day. It wasn’t supposed to happen. Everything is going terribly wrong. Why would the priests want to kill him? Running away from the White-Walled City and the temple she loves, Meres hides in the desert of The Black Land, determined to follow the river and find her husband’s body to rescue his soul before it’s destroyed forever. But nothing she encounters makes sense…until she meets someone with a wild claim about the recent and secret murder of her husband’s sister and nieces.

Why is his family being killed? Does that mean Meres will be next?

Determined to uncover the truth, Meres doesn’t know she’ll soon come face-to-face with a terrifying serial killer—nor does she realize that the fate of the entire nation rests on her shoulders.

Our Lady of the Absolute is the sequel to Murder in the Black Land. If you like ancient Egypt, historical fantasy blended with a modern-day setting, and plenty of twists and turns, then you’ll love Resa Nelson’s tale of heroic women, courage, and determination.

Ancient Egypt with a twist!

A little over a month ago I read an advance Reader Copy of Our Lady of the Absolute and posted my review which is included below. This month I listened to the audiobook expertly narrated by the author – Resa Nelson. Listening to Our Lady of the Absolute was just as entertaining as my original reading of the story. Resa’s narration brought all the characters to life in ways I hadn’t experienced with my reading. This is a very original story, and her narration brought that reality into clear focus. The following is my original review

While this story was written and published prior to Murder in the Black Lands I found reading Murder in the Black Lands first brought Our Lady of the Absolute into a clear focus and made reading both very entertaining. Our Lady of the Absolute answered all the questions I had after reading Murder in the Black Lands. To say this book is entertaining is an understatement. Once I opened the book, I didn’t close it until I had finished. If you enjoy stories that are filled with action and intrigue as well as populated with twists that show up when least expected, you might pick up both books in this series and settle in for a story with roots in ancient Egypt.
