About this listen

HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO TO SAVE THE ONES YOU LOVE?

A remote cabin in a snowy forest could be the perfect place for Claire and Emma to work on their marriage and bond with their two children, if only it didn't come with so many memories of Claire's inhumane treatment at the hands of her abusive mother, and if only the strange abandoned schoolhouse nearby didn't have a dark history of its own.

When their children go missing in a snowstorm, the two mothers must put their personal troubles aside and rely on one another to get them back, but nothing has prepared them to face the ever-growing horror that steps lightly in the storm.

Soon the two mothers are forced to ask themselves, how far would you go to save the ones you love?

Our Love Will Devour Us is a novel about the bonds of family, the depths of love, and things that hunger in the dark.

Terrifying. Heartbreaking. Claustrophobic. Brilliant! Fantastic story full of emptiness and longing. The narration was on point and provided the audiobook a more in depth, empathetic storytelling. Definitely recommend.

I received a copy of this book for review and went in completely blind, avoiding any prior information. This review is based solely on my firsthand reading experience. I was utterly captivated from start to finish, and could not stop until the very last word was read.

Our Love Will Devour Us is a haunting and beautifully woven tale that explores the depths of love, sacrifice, and the weight of history. The narration is compelling, pulling the reader into a dark and emotionally charged world where the past refuses to stay buried.

At its core, the story examines the lengths we go to for the ones we love and how communication can be the bridge that brings us back together. Themes of family, legacy, and understanding run deep, creating an experience that lingers long after the final page. The way history comes full circle within the narrative is both chilling and poignant, making for an engaging and thought-provoking read.

The book’s tone is undeniably dark, but never without purpose. Every shadow cast across its pages serves to highlight the fragile connections between its characters. While some moments may feel intense or unsettling, they only strengthen the emotional weight of the story.

If there’s one small critique, it’s that certain elements could have been expanded upon for even greater impact. However, this doesn’t take away from the novel’s effectiveness. Our Love Will Devour Us is a gripping read that masterfully blends family, history, and the unseen forces that shape our lives. Highly recommended for those who enjoy deeply introspective, darkly beautiful storytelling.

This book really took me by surprise, it's incredibly heartfelt and emotionally charged which is something that I don't typically expect from a horror novel. The actual demon was creepy as hell and the author really succeeded in getting underneath your skin. the narration was wonderful and you could really hear and experience how pained the couple were throughout the torment of the book. this book is definitely more of a slowburn style novel which I enjoy a lot

Really Unique Kind of Horror

The narrator was excellent. She did a great job and was easy to listen to. I'd listen to other books she narrates.

The story was slow to start, I actually had to try getting into it at least twice. But it was a good listen. The story line is interesting, but I think the author could have developed some of the characters who sweet the foundation for the second act of it a bit more. Even if they were to do this in the first and third act a bit more, I think it'd have made the payoff stronger, and kept my attention a bit more.

Slow, but good, burn

Decent reader, but to story was weak. Kept waiting for it to improve, but the story insisted on mediocrity. Not bad, but wasn't worth my time to complete. DNF.

Reader was decent; Story not so much
