One of the standout sections for me was Chapter 3: Own Your Success—it was immediately motivating and gave me the push I needed to finally start keeping an accomplishments log consistently. I appreciated the range of practical suggestions Zekis offers to help me make that habit stick. More broadly, the book provides an abundance of strategies tailored to different situations, reinforcing the idea that overcoming imposter syndrome isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey.
Zekis narrates the audiobook herself, and her delivery is both engaging and easy to follow. Her pacing is well-balanced, making it a smooth and enjoyable listen. I also appreciated the inclusion of online resources for the activities at the end of chapters—this was a great way to complement the audio format and ensure that listeners can fully engage with the material.
While this book has broad appeal, it’s especially powerful in its focus on the experiences of Black women in professional spaces. Zekis highlights the unique challenges they face while offering practical, empowering solutions.
Overall, this audiobook is an excellent resource for anyone struggling with imposter syndrome or looking for ways to step more confidently into their professional success. Zekis provides a compelling mix of research, real-world examples, and actionable advice, making this both a valuable guide and a truly inspiring listen. Highly recommended!
