About this listen

As an Independent Insurance Agent, your main job is prospecting. Sure, you will frequently conduct client meetings and make service calls, but none of this will be possible without prospecting. So what exactly is Prospecting? Prospecting is the first step in the sales process, which consists of identifying potential customers, aka prospects. The goal of prospecting is to develop a database of likely customers and then systematically communicate with them in the hopes of converting them from potential customer to current customer. I wrote this book to help you do just that. Insurance Sales & Selling

Title should be Cold Calling for Insurance Agents

Warning for potential buyers: The narration is in virtual (AI) voice, which hurts the listening experience. One small example is that the Virtual Voice does not understand the context of a word with two sounds. CON-tent became kun-TENT.

The material is good if you are starting a career selling life insurance and related products. The message could apply to home and auto independent agents, too. However, the emphasis is on cold calling, which is not explicitly included on the book's cover.

Pros:
The author addresses motivation, lack of skills, and a short prospect list as limiting factors to sales. He also addresses the math needed to hit his sales targets. I also appreciate he provided some of the tools he uses near the end of this short book.

Cons:
Again, the narration was difficult to listen to. Cold calling is only one method of prospecting. He did touch on networking, but other forms of marketing were excluded. That's why the title should probably be changed since the emphasis was on his favorite form of building a sales base and expanding from there.

Overall:
I still see value in the material. Perhaps the book version is the better way to consume this material.
