Practical and Helpful Advice. Highly Recommend.

This book is a game changer! This was exactly what I needed. I'm a newish parent trying to figure out how to manage screen time without feeling like the "bad guy." Payne breaks things down in such a simple, no-nonsense way. She explains how tech affects our kids and gives super practical tips for setting boundaries that actually work.

I also loved all the ideas for activities that don’t involve screens. It’s not just about cutting back on tech; it’s about finding ways to connect as a family.

Balanced perspective encouraging “technology wise” lifestyle prioritizing relationship

I hadn’t heard the term “glow kids” prior to reading this books, but it refers to children growing up around consistent screen glow. I was really impressed with the balanced and thoughtful approach to this topic throughout the book. I love that it prioritizes a healthy relationship with your children as the guiding light throughout everything, and it also doesn’t try to suggest that 100% screen-free is best. Instead, it explains the benefits of being “technology wise” and providing meaningful technology experiences to your children.

The author of the book self-proclaims that she’s not an expert but rather another mom figuring it out as she goes. This brings a fresh perspective to the topic while simultaneously bringing in facts and research from a variety of sources. The audiobook also includes a PDF of the entire book in written formal which is a nice touch—helpful for being able to glance back at certain sections quickly. I’d certainly recommend this book to other parents struggling to determine the role technology should play in their children’s lives in this fast-paced technology-centric world.
