About this listen

When Quakers Flora Saferight and Bruce Millikan embark on the Underground Railroad, they agree to put their differences aside to save the lives of a pregnant slave couple. With only her mother's quilt as a secret guide, the foursome follows the stitches through unknown treachery. As they embark on their perilous journey, they hope and pray that their path is one of promise where love sustains them, courage builds faith, and forgiveness leads to freedom.

Took me a while to get used Quaker speak

this was not my favorite book of this series. I did learn several things. my daughter is a midwife and all of that was interesting. the 'underground railroad' was a histoical fact, and the fear expressed by all concerned was portrayed very believedly.

Thees, thous, and thys really detracted from the story

I understand they were Quakers, but that would be a very small audience and it became quite distracting so I missed a lot of details focusing on the language. Great story though.

A Quaker Historical Romance

I don't know much about the Quaker religion, but there were many discussions on the Bible and how prayer would guide and console them. This was an exciting, yet fearful story, of three young Quakers leading a young married slave family to freedom.
The story was well written and the narration was excellent!

Freedom

This was a good story of the adventure of how Quakers helped an African American freed couple get to true freedom by way of the Underground Railroad into Pennsylvania via the help of a special quilt. There was a good sense of excitement as they were almost discovered. There was love, loss and joy in the LORD GOD. I enjoyed listening to the story as well as the others in this series.

So Uplifting

This book kept me wanting to listen at every opportunity. It is refreshing to listen to a live story without the constant sex. There is such a story.

A get to your heart novel

This is absolutely a wonderful storyline that keeps you so interested that you immerse yourself in the characters lives. True, The The and Tho talk was at first a little hard to get into, but you soon get use to it. A wonderfull novel. What an adventure.

Cute story

The story, and telling of it, was done well. I was getting annoyed with the over use of the word, “thee”, but glad I listened to the end.

Gotta love a happy ending. It's not without its trials though. Don't know much about quakers, but I've always loved stories about the underground railroad. I didn't know slave bounty hunters were a thing either. Simply well written.
