About this listen

Fr. Harrington explains Paul's ethics and the importance of Christian character formation. He touches on such pressing issues as marriage and divorce, sexual morality, the role of community and Eucharist, and the relationship between Church and State. This course focuses on the virtue ethics of Paul. Harrington explains how Christian personal and ethical formation is central to Paul and to the faith life as a whole. Fr. Harrington demonstrates how a Christian should live a life that Paul envisioned for all believers. The three great questions: "Who am I?" "Where do I want to go?" and "How do I get there?" are answered from Paul's perspective of a communal life in the Church with its rich sacramental life. The virtues of faith, hope, and love are examined and how these impact our lives on all levels. This presentation gives the listener the sense of what it was like to be a Christian in the first century and how Christians should strive to live in the 21st century.

The various virtues in Paul are subtle when asking their contemporary relevance. The author succeeds admirably.
