About this listen
Amy Wellington is about to get married and she couldn't be more miserable.
Sure, she loves Peter Johnson, but the problem is her mother, Pepper. Amy hasn't spoken to her in over a decade and for good reason: Her mother is cursed with being interesting. Take for instance, Amy's real name: Sausage. She blames her mother entirely.
The wedding will take place at the beautiful Leelanau Lodge, a secluded spot in northern Michigan. When Peter convinces Amy to invite her mother, Amy knows there's going to be trouble. But how could she know the trouble will involve her first love, the sexy Graham, a series of murders, and excellent lentil soup?
In Pepper Wellington and the Case of the Missing Sausage there's murder and sex, but not at the same time. There is also a string of questions. Will Amy finally live her life authentically? Will she choose a grey life with Peter, or a colorful one with Graham? How many people will end up dead? And most importantly...what kind of mother would name her daughter Sausage?

Story
Lucas knows the perfect night entails just three things: video games, wine, and pad thai. Peanuts are a must! Other people? Not so much. Why complicate things when he’s happy alone? Then one day the apartment board, a vexing trio of authority, rings his doorbell. And Lucas’s solitude takes a startling hike. They demand to see his frying pan. Someone left one next to the recycling room overnight, and instead of removing the errant object, as Lucas suggests, they insist on finding the guilty party. But their plan backfires. Colossally.

Story
A bad best man’s speech can ruin a wedding. Why do we plan every detail of a perfect day and then give the groom’s idiot best friend five minutes of total power? Enter Nate (Glen Powell), a speechwriter-for-hire who helps people write incredible best man speeches. To keep the best man from embarrassing himself (and the newlyweds), Nate uses his list of don’ts: Don’t mention the exes, don’t be rated R, and don’t bum everyone out. Nate’s system never fails. That is, until he meets Dan (Nicholas Braun).

In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. He is surrounded by Vonnegut's usual large cast of continuing characters (notably here the hack science fiction writer Kilgore Trout and the alien Tralfamadorians, who oversee his life and remind him constantly that there is no causation, no order, no motive to existence).

Story
Alice's journey begins as all good journeys do: hitting on the sales guy at REI. After a tumultuous breakup, a quick career transition, family upheaval, and a sobriety journey that didn't fix her life quite as much as she expected it to, Alice decides that the only way to solve all her problems is to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. But as she begins preparing for the months-long quest, she realizes the answers she's seeking might not be on top of a snow-covered mountain. Especially since she just learned there was snow in California.

A little over-the-top silly
It served its purpose-to pass the time while doing housework. Characters behaved inconsistently. Fairly explicit.

Laugh out Loud!
What did you love best about Pepper Wellington and the Case of the Missing Sausage?
I loved the humor, zany characters, and fun loving nature of this mystery.
What does Tanya Eby bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Personality! This book on audible just comes alive with personality! The story came alive and you could hear the characters personalities in the narration.
If you could take any character from Pepper Wellington and the Case of the Missing Sausage out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Pepper! I think she would be an absolute hoot to have dinner with. She is such a free spirit and so much her own person. She is free to be who she is which makes her a lot of fun.
Any additional comments?
Loved this book! Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something interesting, but fun loving and with a zany cast of characters.

Fun
If you are in the mood for some light-hearted romantic, mildly-suspenseful comedy, this is the book for it. Tanya Eby is one of my favourite narrators so I was delighted to see that she had turned her hand to writing as well. I hope this is the beginning of a series featuring the hippiesque Petter Wellington. Her daughter, Sausage, is a wonderful character too.

Pepper Wellington
What a bunch of crazy people! I tell you, this book will have you giggling and wondering who murdered who throughout this whole book. I love all these characters for their craziness, but Pepper and Sausage are definitely my favorites. Finding out who the guilty party is was great! I will definitely be looking into more books from this author.

The title says it all
I really enjoyed listening to this book. Sure it was insane, a bit OTT, but you know what - with that title how can it be anything but? Don't pick this book up expecting a masterpiece, but go into it wanting an insane ride, needing some laughs, because that's what you get. Add in terrific narration and this book is absolutely worth a try.

If you're looking for something light...
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Romantic comedies can be tough when it comes to audio book format. The performance was certainly clear enough and it was delivered by the author herself. But I found the story almost too implausible to be that entertaining. It had its moments; there just weren't enough of them for me.This might be a book that would be more appreciated in e-book or print form. Honestly, for me, the narrator's voicing for male characters in particular became a little tedious.
What three words best describe Tanya Eby’s performance?
Adequate, but tiring.
Was Pepper Wellington and the Case of the Missing Sausage worth the listening time?
I guess that depends on what the reader is looking for. I think the vote on this one will probably be split down the middle. About half the audience will really like and enjoy the book. For the others, it may be something that's quickly forgotten.
Any additional comments?
I'll probably try another one of her books in e-book format.

Tanya Eby may be the funniest woman to put pen to paper!
I know audible fans are familiar with Tanya Eby the narrator. Tanya Eby the writer is a jewel! If you have laughed at her narration as I have countless times you are seriously missing out if you don't pick up one of her books. I laughed from beginning to end. Her characters are fresh, quirky and perfect. Now if you'll excuse me I want to listen to this glorious book again!!!!!!!

Just don’t
Maybe the storyline is ok but the writing just isn’t good and the odd, stilted narration is no help. Skip it.
