About this listen
“When a peregrine falcon dives, it can reach speeds of over 200 miles per hour,” Miles once told me.
Two hundred miles per hour is about how fast my heart was beating when Miles finally told me the truth. He has schizophrenia.
“Can you imagine the kind of courage that takes? To make a dive like that?” he had asked.
Courage. Courage was exactly what I needed.
Because the day I met Miles Jenkins, everything changed. And then everything changed again the day I took a dive.
It takes courage to fight mental illness. And sometimes, it takes more than courage; it takes a friend.
Peregrine is a raw, heartfelt story of friendship, courage in the face of chronic mental illness, and suicide prevention.

Wonderful Book
Listening to Peregrine was such an honor! I loved how the writer switched back and forth between the characters perspectives, it helped the reader to understand each part of the story. While listening to this book, I got the opportunity to put myself in someone’s life that has schizophrenia and it can be very challenging. I have a greater empathy towards people experiencing mental health illness. Erica, thank you so much for this piece of work.
