About this listen

I’m 3,000 miles from New York City.

Three thousand miles from the pain, betrayal, and heartache of a string of failed relationships. Including the relationship with my parents.

Back in the Bay area, I can start fresh. Become one with the sea again. Rise or fall on the tide of my own choices.

But on the first day of my bright new life, the darkest shadows of my past follow me through my office door.

Both shadows have names. And I refuse to let these men into my future.

If I let it consume me - my need for one man, my love for the other - the darkness will swallow me whole. I can’t let that happen.
Not again.

This time, the waves of emotion crashing against my heart won’t drown me.

This time, I get to choose my happy ending.

This time, it will be perfect for me.

Perfect for Me is an angsty, second-chance romance featuring a love triangle, steamy situations, and ugly-cry moments. This friends-to-lovers contemporary story is the third book in the Everhart Brothers series by USA Today best-selling author Claudia Burgoa.

Amazing Story & Listen🎧 Emotionally Moving!

Claudia Burgoa brings out all the emotions with her third book in her “Everhart Brothers” series, a book that not only captivated my attention the entire time but tugged on my heartstrings too. Each book in this series features a different Everhart brother and stands on its own, but I recommend them all, each one is just as amazing at the other and the brothers appear in each other’s books and knowing their backstory is beneficial and adds more depth. This book is Scott, Hazel and Elliott’s story and wow, Burgoa put their hearts through the wringer and she made you feel their pain. I admired Scott from the moment I met him, losing his parents on that tragic day, Sept 11th, their phone call to him, and he going back home to take care of his family and to have to become a responsible adult very quickly. Scott and Hazel work well together and she became a key member on Scott’s team, their relationship morphed into more over the years, but Scott does not think he can give Hazel much more than that, so she puts some space between them and goes to the west coast to run things and while there she will check on her childhood home. She was not expecting to run into Elliott, her ex-husband, and the man who broke her heart. Elliott wants her forgiveness and claims they are soulmates and meant to be, she is not sure how she feels about that or about Elliott. Scott is missing Hazel and realizes he messed up with not telling her how he really felt and by letting her go. He goes to California to work with her but is he too late, does Elliott still own her heart? The journey these characters faced was not an easy one, reflecting back to hard and sorrowful times was gut wrenching, and looking forward to what their future should be is the deciding factor for Hazel and I loved how that all played out. This beautifully written and plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Sebastian York, Emma Wilder and Connor Crais were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were and their portrayal of each was spot on. Wilder as Hazel was perfection, grasped every side of her personality, conveyed her every thought with raw honesty. York did the same for Scott, swoon worthy and all, as Crais did for Elliott. All three grasped their character’s every emotion which they projected into their performance and had you feeling every single one. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.

❤️ PERFECT FOR ME.. yes I loved it ❤️

Hazel has been friends with the Everhart brothers for years and worked closely with them.. but she’d secretly been in a sexual relationship with Scott Everhart for eighteen months. However, Hazel wanted more from their relationship.. like commitment, a family and love.. but Hazel had to walk away when Scott couldn’t give her more. And she leaves Scott and New York and flies across the country to start a new business venture.. which brings her back to her roots, back to her memories and back to her ex husband Elliot. Scott knows he’s got to fight for the woman he desperately loves.. but did his words and rejection hit too hard? Will the bonds of a beautiful childhood friendship, shared firsts and a tender first love stay strong and hold between Hazel and Elliot after a decade apart? And will Elliot prove to be Hazel’s one true soulmate?

Deep down I didn’t really feel the love triangle because there was no question who deserved their happily ever after with Hazel and I’m so very happy she realized it was him too. Yes, I know this is supposed to be a love triangle, but realistically, there was never any doubt who had my heart because his love shone bright and true right from the start. And it’s a wonderfully addictive triple POV journey as the choice is emotionally whittled down to just one in a heartfelt love story that has the heroine having to figure out who to let go for the bigger love. The love that sacrifices.. the love you just can’t walk away from.. the happily ever after kind of love. Well, I soaked it up as the well-written and well-narrated chapters flew by in a sea of delicious feels, anticipation and uncertainty.. and my heart broke and soared. Sebastian, Emma and Connor’s stellar narration brought to life the triumph and the tragedy of a heart divided.

Worth a credit? Yes, the cover drew me in because I could feel his tortured soul.. but I knew it was book 3 in an ongoing family saga so I was initially uncertain. Would this passionate plea have been even better if I’d waited and listened to books 1 and 2 in the series first? yes it probably would’ve been - however, I just couldn’t stop myself. It does briefly recap Hazel, Scott and Elliot’s romantic histories, past pain and introduces some of the other brothers who are weaved into the plot. So shrug, I didn’t wait and listened to it as a stand-alone and I loved.. loved.. loved every single minute of it.

5 'I'll Love You Forever' Stars!

I am so in love with these Everhart men! They are so loving, attentive, and loyal. Even tho they give each other a hard time, they will definitely have each others backs if anyone else troubles them. That goes the same with Hazel. She has been apart of their family for years. They love and protect her like a sister. Well except for Scott. He is private, guarded and broody to everyone except Hazel. With her he is sensitive and affectionate. She fulfils his life and makes him want to be a better man. But Hazel has never forgotten her first love and that is the wall that interferes with their forever love. When Hazel thinks Scott doesn't want her, she flees New York looking for a fresh start, leaving the Everhart men feeling just as lost as she is. I have been looking forward to reading Scott and Hazel's story and finding out more about the man who broke her heart years ago. This is what Ms Burgoa does best. She gives us flawed and complex characters who strive to find their happiness. She gives us a multifaceted story that makes us really feel and understand every raw and honest emotion and we relish the journey. I am usually not a fan of love triangles but Hazel needed to face her past to see if it was her future and to understand who she is now. This is a gripping and emotional story of love, trust, healing, and second chances. It brought out so many extreme emotions and I loved every minute of it!
It was made even better by the phenomenal narration by Sebastian York, Emma Wilder, and Connor Crais. York’s smooth, deep voice, and perfect inflections made Scott come alive and made me swoon! Wilder's brilliant delivery gripped my imagination and compelled me to feel everything Hazel thought and experienced. Crais nailed the lost man who could not let go of the past. These narrators embodied these characters perfectly making my heart race from beginning to end. This is storytelling at its absolute finest and I loved every moment of this beautiful, poignant, passionate, and unforgettable, love story!

Perfect for Me

This series has been so much fun to read. Each book has felt unique but they all fit well together. Perfect For Me does have a love triangle. I am normally not a fan of that trope, but I do really like Claudia Burgoa's storytelling style. She did a nice job keeping me invested in the characters and story.

Hazel, Scott, and Elliott's story is emotional with some angst and lots of drama. There were times I wished there was a bit less push and pull, but it felt realistic within the story and who these characters are.

As this is the third book in the series I also liked getting to see more of Scott's brothers and their wives, too.

Fantastic narration and a great story add up to an audiobook that is worth picking up!

Great listen to

Normally I'm a bit reserved starting in the middle of an series, but here it's no problem at all.
In the beginning I was a bit confused if the heroine talks now about the past or the present, but as I got used to this story, I really enjoyed it.

All the way to the end I was wondering, if THEY find finally together or not.
The rest of the series is def. on my want-to-read-list.

The narrators did a great job, I really liked to listen to all 3 of them.

Emotionally Drained

I read the ebook when it first released. I applaud Ms. Burgoa for tackling mental illness. It is still not widely understood and accepted as a medical condition. Hazel suffers from depression that is paralyzing at times. I understand all to well what that means. I love Scott for never giving up. Hazel needed to decide who she wanted to be with when it came to Elliott and Scott.

These narrators always bring their all when voicing the characters and bringing them to life.

Entertaining

This is Scott and Hazel as well as Elliot’s story and to say it is complicated is an understatement. This is probably the book that has the most angst in the series and was certainly an emotional roller coaster of a read. Having met Hazel in previous books I was intrigued by her; such a sassy and feisty woman.
The narration by Sebastian York, Emma Wilder and Connor Crais was spot on. They certainly did justice to the angst and emotions that were woven throughout this story. Their voices are pleasant and easy to listen to and
There were times that I wanted to scream and slap some sense into Scott and Hazel and I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what Ms.Burgoa had in store for these characters? Hazel has been through so much and through it all has been her friendship with the Everheart brothers. Hazel’s ex husband Elliott wants a second chance, the question is whether she is prepared to give him one or are the feelings that have developed for Scott going to stand in the way?
Scott too has been through a lot and is wary of relationships, he is broody and emotionally detached except when it comes to Hazel and his family. Miss communication with Scott leads Hazel to move across the country for a fresh start, leaving the Everheart brothers in shock and feeling a little lost.
This is an emotional story of love and second chances. Will Hazel forgive Elliot and chose to re kindle their relationship or will she chose the man she has always counted on Scott?

Oh My!

Oh my heart! I didn't expect this. I am used to the author bringing out all the emotions from me in her stories but this one was unexpected. I felt for all the characters, especially Hazel. I was on edge because I couldn't take the suspense of who Hazel would choose, even if I kept wishing for it. It's emotional, raw, but sweet, sexy, and funny; because I love how the author throws in the humor and banter to balance it all out. The cast did a great job of bringing these emotions to life with their narration. I love that we had two male voices to balance it out and gives the story so much more depth.

Triangulation

Claudia Burgoa is such a talented author. I have thoroughly enjoyed several of her books. This one, sadly, was not my favorite. But that could be a matter of personal taste for me.

The story started out with such an emotionally riveting opening, I thought I was going to devour this read. At first, I really enjoyed it. The Everhart brothers are a total treat, with tons of wit and swoony comments as well. It was Hazel, one side of the triangle, that messed this one up for me. She was a constant source of mixed signals for both Scott and Elliott. One moment telling them to get out of her life, and the next chapter would have her flirting shamelessly with them. I was as confused as Scott and Elliott.

It didn't help my opinion of Hazel's character any that the very talented narrator, Emma Wilder, gave Hazel such an angsty, breathy, "woe is me" voice. Hazel's predicament was brought on by a combination of pure male stupidity and her inability to communicate. Which is interesting, since Hazel is such a smart character. But she sure didn't use any intelligence as this story unfolded, and that bothered me greatly.

Readers can expect seriously steamy scenes, and plenty of adult language in this read, where the "f-word" is used as a noun, verb, and adverb. Every story can't be a winner with everybody, and this one just didn't sit that well with me. Maybe I had a bad day, but I just felt like Hazel whined too much. I'm sure not everyone would agree with that assessment, and that's fine. I hope you do enjoy this story, because the author is a good one.
