About this listen

A mysterious bodyguard. Explosive assignments. Secrets at risk.

A cloak of mystery surrounds Lady Anne’s life until she is assigned to guard King Ahmad, the first Muslim king to convert to the Christian faith. Her tight wall of secrecy begins to crumble when her stunning rescues of the king from terrorist attacks offer the world a glimpse of her enhanced strength.

Rumors and conflicting reports hide the truth in the media but don’t diminish the attraction of Stuart Jackson, the NASCAR champion enlisted to help welcome the race-loving King Ahmad. Jackson sees in her the internal peace he craves, but his extreme measures to locate her threaten to blow her cover.

When she finally seems to have everything under control, the greatest danger shows its face. She must decide how far she’s willing to go to protect her secrets, her family, and her life.

Critic reviews

Peril offers captivating action, yet it is clean, direct, and solid in its dealing with moral issues. An exceptional start to what promises to be a captivating series.” (Ann Hibbard, Home Educating Magazine)

Lots of Action!

This book kept me at the end my seat once I figured out how to speed up the narration! Lots of action, but clean! Thank You Suzanne Hartmann! A beautiful female body guard who is not only mysterious, but has super powers...

The narration by Anthea Hallett-Ybarra was kind of slow - at the beginning it was distracting me too much, then I speed it up to 1.25 and it was OK. She did very good accents!

I received this audio-book free for an honest review by the author, narrator, or publisher. Thank you!!!

Great Story

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This book was filled with suspense, racing details, love, regret, terrorism, and so many other emotions. The book was Christian centered and powerful. My best suggestion is to speed it up a little. The narrator was very boring at normal speed but the book was so good that I wanted to hear all of it so I had to speed it up. It is an excellent story and worth the listen.
